This was the first RPG I played if I recall correctly. I was into platformers like Mario Brothers and such.

I remember after getting the ship and getting to the Elf kingdom, I didn't know where to go so I sailed around that enclosed sea until I was level 10. Though I did manage to load up on silver equipment for my team. As for money, I remember doing some buttons combo on top of the ship to play a little mini-game. If you manage to solve the puzzle, you get 100 gold.

There was this one night where I stayed up all night to finally beat the game. It was rough but I thought the ending was superb. Didn't know that something like that could've been achieved on such a puny little 8-bit system. Then again, playing some 8-bit games after a decade, how some of those games were presented were just superb.

Also, I thought the fight scenes were just hilarious. Your characters are separated by two interfaces yet all your team member has to do is strike air two or three times to damage the enemies.

Man, I was really taken aback by how all you were doing was running around just to end up in the dungeon you first went all the way back at the start of the game. Blew me away.

The game that started it all.

1. Laughing every time one of my party members attacked a monster - no matter what it was (sword, hands, magic) - it would create a swirling colored ball of smoke around the monster's entire body. LOL

2. Spending weeks leveling up and saving up GP outside of Elfland looking for Ogres - I'd get one Ogre and multiple Creeps or a flock of wolves 9 times out of 10...

3. Getting through the entire game in one sitting after beating Lich and lighting the Earth Orb - my only objection to the game. Elfland takes forever, and the rest of the game is too quick in my opinion.

Great game, can't wait till Origins comes via UPS along with the guide - starting my challenge soon!

Memories?, Killing Chaos in DoS version with only a few turns with Ultima Weapon equipt to my Knight and Masamune equipt to my Ninja Hasted and Tempered multiple times

My brother saved over my game. So I had to start over.

I remember taking out the boat and you had to find a spot and press b like 67 times so you could play that crappy move the numbers game...and I remember I had to do it every time I tried to flip it just because, even though I hated that move the numbers game...It was a secret and I wanted to exploit it like my father's nudey deck of cards...
