I'd have to say 4 fighters for the sake of destroying everything in your path. If you run all the time, you can get crushed in the endgame pretty easily. Magic is good, but fighters seem to handle anything that is thrown at them.

It really depends on play style. I'd probably go with
2 Fighters
1 Black Belt / another fighter
1 Black Mage
The three main fighters are obviously there to destroy things, while the mage hastes them for more damage and can nuke large amounts of enemies.
And yes, running in all random battles would not be a good choice to survive the endgame, or the midgame for that matter :/.

Apparently he didn't put any armor on his 4 fighters since it puts the evade factor through the roof. I didn't really realize the dodge penalty was that much for armor but it does make sense.

I noticed the no armor thing also and was a bit surprised. Did you actually get the movie to run?
The suggestion of 3 fighters and a black mage is interesting, thanks for the input.

For a race to complete the game with a friend (and I'm assuming this is the 8-bit version) I would have to go with a party of one Fighter for obvious tanking reasons, One white mage for curative reasons, (saves time on having to buy one potion at a time) and Two red mages for all around fighter reasons.

4 warriors could do it the fastest, don't have to worry about MP and they can heal each other a little later in the game

I think 4 fighters would be the best choice. On my one playthrough (T_T) my fighter was the only character never to get KOed. In fact, he never lost more than half of his HP. So 4 of them would own anything IMO.

Exactly. Honestly I'm not sure why they really even included the other job classes. I guess it gave the game variety... but the other classes really weren't useful.
