I would have to say its very hard but not impossible. I passed it without a white mage and got lots of asswhips but its not impossible.

I don't use magic hardly ever but I would have been screwed without a white mage. Theres no way I would be prepared to stock all those potions

Oh lord, I can't imagine trying to beat the game without a White Mage. I'm sure it would be easy if you power leveled, but there were so many times in the game the White Mage saved my life it's untrue xD

If I were going to try without a White Mage, I'd choose two Red Mages, a Warrior and a Monk. I kinda see a Red Mage as half Black, half White, so in order to have a White Mage, I'd need two Red Mages, right?

Flawed, I guess. FFI isn't my speciality, but no one has suggested this yet.

The trick to beating the game at a low level without a white mage is using the healing staffs/healing helms in battle to heal up your party when you are fighting weak enemies in the final dungeon.

As long as you keep 99 potions in stock for the earlier dungeons you should be OK.
