Like the earlier posts say, it's a glitch...
Juke had it during battle, so.. his glitch happened during battle.

Does the glitch affect the game in any other way besides the appearance change?

I seem to recall that happening to me too, where was you when it happend? I was just on the feild doing a random battle when it happened.
