Goblins! Y'know, usually the very first monster you encounter in the old FF days but I would think that chocobos would be older. They've been in almost every title. Plus, they are birds and birds are practically descendants of dinosaurs.

The FFVII compilation and FFX saga are the only Final Fantasy chapters that have been stated to be in the same universe. And this is from the creators of those two game sets, so it is pretty much canon at this point. But Gaia and Spira are two different worlds seperated by many centuries (Shinra makes mention in FFX2 about harnessing the limitless farplane energy but states that it is many generations off).
The only other final fantasy games to take place in the same world are those of Ivalice.
