Actually, Supernova does damage based on percentages. I believe it always leaves your character in critical HP. So, yeah, if your Player Character has about 4100 HP, then Supernova can't do more than about 4000, but a character with, say, 9999 HP would receive much greater damage from it. Still, Kefka's final boss battle is much more difficult than Safer Sephiroth is. Speaking in terms of Gameplay, Kefka is much tougher, but storyline-wise, it's more difficult to guage. Kefka can put out more raw power per attack, but that's to be expected from one who specializes in magic. As I said, Kefka vs. Sephiroth is like Genesis vs. Sephiroth, but on a larger scale. Kefka easily surpasses Sephiroth in magic, but Kefka hasn't shown any degree of physical proficiency, whereas Sephiroth possesses very impressive amounts of raw strength, speed, physical durability, etc. Kefka vs. Sephiroth is a very difficult subject for me because they balance one another out quite well. I think the most likely outcome is a standstill.

However, I will say that I agree in that I prefer Sephiroth as a character...well, not counting the way he was presented in FF7: Advent Children (damn movie took away his personality and badass-ness).

I was just joking really. Although Kefka is by far my favourite villain. I rather dislike Sephiroth.

I wasn't really replying to you specifically, I was just trying to get in my response before a Seph vs. Kef war began...as much as I regrettably love them. It's a guilty pleasure, actually. I don't so much mind that you don't like Sephiroth, though. Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just have rather...shall we say "bad experiences" with Sephy Haters, so I'm inherently a bit nervous around them. I'm actually glad to see someone who dislikes Sephiroth, but is still able to articulate his opinion without continually going around shouting about he's supposedly nothing more than a "gay mama's boy lolololololol" with absolutely no merit as a villain.

I say Sephiroth would kill all the other Villians in the series it takes him forever to die and he keeps coming back no matter what. Remember Advent Children, he will come back if he was able to come back from FFVII

So Exdeath just banishes him to the Void. There, no more Sephiroth.

It wouldnt matter, Sephiroth always finds a way back somehow and it takes forever to kill ol dude, he like fricking immortal seems like. I think it would take more than that to kill Sephiroth. I would love to see Sephy and Ultemicia fight it out that would be epic.

Sephiroth is far from the strongest villain. He's a Mid-Tier antagonist as far as Final Fantasy goes; certainly not the weakest by any means, but there are several who could blow him out of the water with ease and at least one (Kefka) who could probably match him in single combat. Sephiroth lacks any truly apocolyptic, world-destroying abilities that he could use of his own power, which is what puts him below planet busting gods or demi-gods like Kuja, Ultimecia, Neo ExDeath, and Chaos. His capabilities are easily surpassed by those four. Yes, he has come back from the dead before, but doing so took him years on-end. The first time, he couldn't even completely reform his body in (I believe) five years. The second, it took him two years, and he needed Kadaj to merge with JENOVA's cells in order to do it. His ability to come back from the dead simply isn't one that could be used in a one-on-one duel. It takes too much time and very specific circumstances (a high concentration of JENOVA Cells) to be effective in that sort of situation. By the time Sephiroth actually does revive himself, the villain would surely be in good enough shape to simply swat him down again. The process would be repeated until there aren't enough JENOVA Cells left for him to revive.

For sake of leaving no stone unturned, I'll go over how each of the four villains I listed as being superior to Sephiroth could annihilate him, starting with Kuja. Trance Kuja simply has too much raw power for Sephy to handle. He'd be blasted and completely overwhelmed by his Ultima, not to mention his other magical abilities. The fact of the matter is that Kuja offed an entire planet with one attack, and blasted a hole in the space/time continuum. That's something Sephiroth has never shown the ability to replicate of his own power. Depending on how fast Kuja can fly, he could simply get himself out of Sephiroth's range and blast him with an Ultima. Those beams travel incredibly fast, and the longer Kuja has, the more of them there are. Sephiroth would quickly find himself unable to keep up with the constant barrage of magical energy. Kuja just has to...overpower him. It's that simple. Regardless of how much willpower Sephiroth has, he can't survive his body being torn to shreds by a barrage that destroyed an entire planet.

ExDeath, as mentioned above, could simply banish him to the Void. There's really nothing Sephiroth could do about that. Given his lack of reality warping potential (Chaos) and the ability to rip holes in the universe (Kuja), Sephiroth would find himself pretty much powerless against ExDeath's control over the Void. Yes, Sephiroth almost definitely surpasses ExDeath in terms of physical strength, and I don't know that ExDeath has shown apocolyptic magical power, either, but the fact that he controls the Void is enough to put him above Sephiroth. He (Seph) just doesn't have anything to counter it. Even if he can revive himself (which, again, takes too long to be used in combat), Sephiroth has no way of escaping the Void.

Ultimecia surpasses Sephiroth in terms of magic, easily. She had absorbed a large amount of space and time before she was beaten by Squall and co. (through Fate...*cough*). Again, I think Sephiroth probably has her beat when it comes to physical capabilities, but...Ultimecia was in the process of absorbing the universe itself. Granted, she didn't finish the job, but she made enough progress that the background in the final battle was nothing more than a black void. It's simply common sense to assume, then, that she was granted power surpassing Sephiroth's. Besides, she was stated to have had the power of the lower half of Hyne, who was also a genuine god.

Lastly, there's Chaos. Chaos is god. He's not a god. He seems to be a literal manifestation of all things evil. Hell, if Dissidia is canon, he probably created all the evil in all the Final Fantasy games to date. Sephiroth, a mere individual entity, could never hope to stand up against that. As I said, most Final Fantasy villains try to achieve godhood, meaning that they want to become gods reminiscent of the ones you hear about in polytheistic mythology. Chaos, however, is the be-all, end-all of evil. None of the FF villains can mess with that and get out alive.

Of course, there are also villains that Sephiroth, himself, could blow out of the water. He's certainly not the weakest, but you simply can't argue that he's the strongest, either. Yes, he could almost definitely beat the likes of Mateus Palmecia, Cloud of Darkness, Zeromus (possibly), Yu-Yevon/Sin, and Vayne, as well as fight Kefka to a standstill, but there are villains in the Final Fantasy continuity that surpass him. Sometimes the gap between them is quite large, in fact.

I certainly don't think you're a hater. I'm worried that people are getting the wrong idea, actually. I don't dislike people who aren't fond of Sephiroth's character, I just can't stand the obnoxious, stuck-up, self-righteous haters who think that Final Fantasy VII and all Final Fantasy VII related products are garbage, and that anyone who plays them must be either legally retarded, a fanboy, or both, and who discriminate against people for having gotten into Final Fantasy after 1997 because they just can't bear the fact that Final Fantasy VII is more popular than their favorite Final Fantasy. The fact that they call Sephiroth a "gay mama's boy" even though he never once indicates that he's either homosexual OR a mama's boy certainly doesn't help, either.

You're definitely not one of those. Heavens, no. You're far more intelligent than those posers.

...My favorite is FFIX, just as an aside. FFVII is a close second...Just thought I'd get that out of the way.
