the ff8 charas. Squall's Lionheart would destroy them, and if somehow they managed to survive that, Rinoa's Wishing star would, or Quistis's Shock Wave pulsar.

I say FFVIII because FFVIII characters have better limit breaks...Zell would own everyone including Cloud.

FFVII's characters are portrayed better; they have better personalities, better histories, better motives, and better overall designs.
FFVIII's characters are a bunch of no-brain teenagers following the orders of a clown (cid), and they all share the same history.

The teams are not fair. You gave FFVIII team basically the best characters from the game while giving the FFVII party Cait Sith and Aeris? What do you mean by Barret jumped off the Shinra building while nothing happens at all to any of the FFVIII characters? Add RedXIII and Barret and then its a fair fight.

How about...FFVIII's cast was shorthanded and it sucked. Why not play fair? FFVIII WAS LACKING CHARACTERS, end of story.
Not happy? Add Edea and Seifer to balance it out, since they are playable in some cases.
