FFVII's character has better motives and stronger ambitions. I think FFVIII's characters are just driven by orders and immature emotions.

I vote for FF8 because I thought Ultimecia was a bigger threat than Sephiroth.

I'd have to say VIII, I liked the characters a lot more, and it was just more fun for me, thats about it I suppose, and Ultimecia was like woah

Sephiroth and Ultimecia have nothing to do with this though...it's a vote about which playable cast of characters is better...even though the thread starter left out some of the best characters...

Me too. FF7's a good game in its own right. But I seem to prefer FF8 over it.
