CSI:Balamb
Well i saw Aztec Triogal's thread and thought an FF8 themed one would be fun too.
So here's the deal. I'm gonna set up a murder mystery like on CSI. The story revolves around the world of Final Fantasy VIII beginning at the very beginning of the game itself. Whatever happens has no impact on Squall and the party and their mission.
place your votes on what happens next it may lead you some where and it may not. A good post would be: "The body may have come from Timber so lets go there and look for clues" once people voice what will happen next i will tally up the votes and we will go from there. Once this first Tally is done, I will start giving choices on what to do.
~Example~ we can now either go to Timber or we can investigate in Balamb further~
OK so here's the Scene.
A male body was found in the back alleyways of Balamb. He appears to be in his mid teens to early twenties, so it is probable he was a student at Balamb Garden. He has no identification on his person. Cause of death appears to be a sword wound to his torso. A trail of blood leading to the body show that this is a secondary crime scene. He appears to have been attacked elsewhere and was either dragged to this area or staggered here on his own and bled out.

CSI = My turf. I love you <3
We'll know when we get the man back to the morgue, so the identification problem may not be much a problem at all - finger prints, DNA swabs, dental records: go through them all until you get a name. Also, check underneath his fingernails for skin cells - there is always the possibility of a brawl before the stabbing and subsequent ensanguination. Check his liver temperature for an approximate time of death.
A trail of blood? Were there drag marks in the trail? If not, then he has not likely been dragged. There is a possibility of him fumbling and causing a mess in the blood, but we'd know more with pictures of the crime scene xD.
Follow the trail to the primary crime scene and start processing the scene and asking anyone in the area of either the primary or the secondary crime scene.

Forgive my post for going slightly off topic, but this is referencing to Riku's other post in the CSI: Midgar. I do actually plan to participate in this, however.
Riku, I've never watched a single episode of CSI. Along with forensics, do they also include forensic psychology, or criminal profiling?

I can't say I've heard of "Forensic Psychology" used in any of the episodes and I'm not entirely familiar with it, so I wont go on and try to explain it xD As for criminal profiling - guessing from the self-explanitory title, would this involve keeping a record of all criminals? If so, then yes, the CSI's do that.

there is some Forensic psycology involved in CSI so the answer to Vegnya's question is yes those things are included
as for the next course of action... it seems that follow the trail of blood has won out.
~Next Part~
We follow the trail of blood through the alley to a shady looking pub. around the backside of the pub we find blood spray and pooling. this is the primary crime scene. a sword is laying on the ground, with blood on the hilt but very little on the blade. We can assume this is the victim's weapon. we dust the blade and what we can of the hilt and take a sample of the blood to compare to the vic's.we lift several prints from the blade and partials from the hilt. Several hairs are found stuck in the pool of blood on the ground and they do not match the color of the victim.
Here are our choices on what to do next:
1: return to the lab with the samples and check the autopsy report.
2: ask people in the surrounding buildings if anyone had seen any of what happened.

Return to the lab with the samples and check the autopsy report, I say. Normally, people don't see anything. But then again ...
Besides, good idea. I love CSI to pieces!

Choice #2. I believe you may end up with witnesses who have seen or heard anything during, before, and after the scene of the crime.

Choice 2
-I think you should at least ask the owner of the pub if he hear or saw anything suspicious.
