West Sluice Control Key/Lost in the Pudding Hunt

Where do you get the control key so you can complete the Lost in the Pudding hunt? I accepted the bill and all, but didn't receive anything then, and I can't find any other way to get to the part of the Waterway that you need to get to to hunt the mark. What am I forgetting? Thanks!

you have to kill white mousse first then you will get the key

Enter the Waterway from Lower Rab., then travel through it ( mobs @ lvl 39-40ish ). The White Mousse will drop from the cieling in the SW corner of the map. It's right when you go down the stairs. Use Fire, that's what it is weak too.

I am having the exact same problem. I know you get the key after you kill the flan thing. My problem is actually getting to the southwest corner. I can get into the sewer area but not over to SW corner area. I am using the entrance next to the merchant in lowtown. I use the right door. The left door is locked.

Yeah, I just kinda gave up, but eventually got their through the Barheim Passage. So now I have the key and everything and I'm working on that side quest that you can do with it....

Yeah, I remember the Barheim Passage it is sealed up at the one location. The other you needed a key right? How did you get the key?

I'm pretty sure you have to do the Patient in the Desert sidequest, but I do believe that you can get it another way...I'll have to check on that though.

For White Mouse you don't need the Barheim Passage Key. Whitemouse is in the South West Corner of the Map - you can get there from Lower Rabanastre like Majere07 said. Make sure though if you are going for him, to hit up the Save Crystal in the South Center. If you don't, and you are hurting on Experience Levels, you will be in for a whooping.

Be cautious of the Elemental as well, if you cast anything, I mean anything while it is in the area, prepare to die. Deal with it first and then take on White Mouse.

Follow the strategy listed in the Mark FAQs for White Mouse, he is not a push over. Beserk him , then Shear him, the Fira/Firaga - whatever magic you have. Also don't I mean don't! use your Quickenings on it.. It will be to strenuous to keep on using Charge over and over to heal your team mates.. Best to keep Decoy on your Sword/Shield wearer , then go to town with the other two.

Is there a trick to being able to get to the SW corner? When I enter the waterway, I find the save crystal...not a problem. My issue is that I am confined to the central part of the map. I cannot get to the perimeter to circle down and around to get to the SW corner. There is water blocking the way between the sets of steps all over the place. There is no route to get to the SW Corner open. Do I have to wait for Dry season or something like that?

Also, yes, I finished the Patient in the Desert side quest and got the Barheim key. I fought my way through there as far as I could get. There were some mega tough monster for a level 30ish crew. It didn't lead back the waterway though.

Yeah, you have to beat that "mega tough" guy (aka esper) first to get through to the waterway. You should be able to beat it soon though if you're around 30ish already.
