FF7. Best selling game of all time (apart from the classic, but linear and repetative tetris game). All the fans want a re-make. Nothing changed. Just a remake on the PS3.

Here is the Original intro to the beauty that is: Final Fantasy 7 on the PSOne.

At the time, those graphics were the best of any game. Now they look dated, so a re-make with new graphics was all we asked.

Square Enix teased us.

Square-Enix even went as far as making Final Fantasy - Advent Children. Explaining what happened years after the Final Fantasy 7 adventure...

Then, according to Wikipedia:

''At E3 2006, Square Enix called the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, which at this moment includes 6 games, 1 film, 1 OVA and 2 novels, a "50 billion Yen project" and said it would span until the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII (2017)''

It just so happens that Square-Enix have said there will be no new games for 10 years. Well. No original games. You see, Square-Enix are currently making the ''Fabula Nova Crystalis Project'', which consists of 6 games and lasts 10 years.

So if i merge that information, E3 2006's announcement of Final Fantasy VII's 20th Anniversary and the ''Fabula Nova Crystalis Project'', it seems there will be a remake of Final Fantasy 7. Which will be the 'Final' game released in the Final Fantasy series. Only thing is. It'll be released in 2017. Which, at the time of writing is 10 years away.

*sigh now*

I'll be 27 then. I'll probably not even have a console, nor be interested in gaming enough to buy a console and sit through Final Fantasy 7 for another 40+ hours completing it as i have done many years ago. If there's one positive thing to come out of this.......at least kids who are born in 2009 will probably be old enough to play and understand some of Final Fantasy 7 when their parents buy it for them in a distant Christmas Holiday.

thanks for the reply i'm glad you took it well, i was expecting someone to take it the wrong way and think i was being offensive!

But as you said, 10 years is a long time. It's a heck of a long time. And being honest, in 10 years i cannot see me buying a console just to play a game i liked when i was younger. If an FF7 remake came out in the next 2 years, i'd happily buy it for the rull RRP, but i'm not waiting 10 years. It's just not on..

Does anyone else think my theory makes sense??

Wait a sec, if its in 10 years, doesnt that mean the graphics would be even more outstanding? And wouldnt the game be on the PS4-5 lol?

yeah, it'd probably be the PS4 or 5 haha. Graphics would be better. BUT.....i have been waiting for a re-make for the last couple of years, now seems the perfect time, but it seems Square-Enix have other ideas...

Both. There are rumours it's the last final fantasy game, and therefor the last FF7 remake/prequal/sequal
