Don't use that points system for it, that would just get bypassed too often and it's generally just a pain. And afaik, there's no issue with changing post counts.

And I think 'chaos' is a but strong. Changing usernames often isn't exactly going to bring about the apocolypse, and as I said, it's not hard to catch up on who's changed their name to what.

I think so too, Matt has a good point. Could someone just explain about the post count a bit, what's that about?

Updating the post counter. People's post counts might go down.

A couple people have requested name changes, if no one minds updating the post counter I'll go ahead and change them.

The post count will stay the same, since all you're doing is editing user details. Not like you're making a new account.

Ah I see, tnx for the explanation. Even if my post count goes down I wouldn't mind, it would mean that I'd have to post some more

Exactly, peoples post counts aren't effected by changing usernames,

The only time peoples post counts have fluctuated on FFF is when threads have been archived into the wrong places.

...and, combined with the current "Previous Username" function, all you need to do is click.
