well more forums need more links those require server space filling up the server so it does and the first one was me from my checking if you check the dates.

yes it does i use to run sites and the more links there are the more space it takes up ask any site host they will tell you the same thing

I think the main concern I had with trying to originally decrease the forum size was this:

Every forum is set to either:
A. Post Count
OR
B. No Post Count

When something is moved on this site from one section to another, it affects your post count if one forum counts the posts and another doesn't. So the "Farplane" for archived topics would need at least one that counted posts, and one that didn't, and those moving topics into them would have to determine between the 2 when archiving.

I say let people lose their post count and leave it at that. If they want it back that much, then they can just post more.

Exactly. The post count really just encourages people to race. I'm hardly one to talk -- I did it, but why not use that as an example? I did nothing but spam for a while to get to the top

Of course, at that point, the top was around 200.
