My request.
I guess I'll have to be serious about my request. I totally went about it the wrong way at first. Now, I'll be clear as to what I want.
I hereby request user name colors for the arcade champions.
The arcade champions deserve a little recognition for their efforts. I used my entire night to get the high score at Space Invaders. The least I could show for it is a font to represent my toil, and merit.
If there was a user name color for arcade champions, there would be a lot more people playing in the arcade section. I even brought Arthvader back by beating his high score.
The arcade has the power to bring back long lost members. Just think about the other champions. Those guys haven't posted in ages. If someone were to beat their scores, they'd be back, happen to look at topics that interest them, and start posting like old times.
(This last reason is a long shot, but I'm pulling out all of the stops to acquire for the champions what we deserve.) It may also drown the drama with competitiveness, and sportsmanship. For instance, say I offend someone, instead of flaming me, they might beat my high score to castrate my championship title, therefore my pride as well. I mean, who would want to waste an entire night getting their high score back, right?

Your opinions are greatly exposed and well organized Guv'na, for that *tips hat* you get a serious reply now.
This thread has a foundation and a enough opinions and possible facts that back up your suggestion.
There was once a username created for Clan Leaders, but due to the unavailability of the Clan Feature in our current version of the RPG Inferno, I think it was removed.
Your suggestion however, could be a great addition to encourage old members, like you previously stated above, to come back to the forums. Not only will it promote sportsmanship and competitiveness, but it will also promote respect and over all increase interactions between old members and new members alike.
Since it takes a lot of effort, and hours of gameplay, a user group color for "Arcade Champions" would be good, or perhaps a Champion Badge (like a small medal next to your game or below your name) would be good.
Who knows if this will work or not but we'll never know until we try.
So I agree d==

Isn't it enough for recognition by members knowing you are the arcade champ for space invaders?
Your usertitle says you are the champ but i suppose someone could make a new colour member title

A name colour could become confusing. Adding it into the legend would just be an inconvenience.
You gain notoriety in the Arcade, and that's the only place you should get it. It has no impact on the forums, and thus shouldn't be included.

A name color change could get very confusing, especially since it obviously represent staff only.
What should be a possibility though, would be to add that little picture of the gold trophy with the name of the game(s) next to it somewhere under your user name so that it shows up on all of your posts.
I'm pretty sure that V3 arcade had a simple postbit_legacy template mod for just that.
Either way, It's really up to the staff on how they want the board to look, but a good suggestion over all Guv'na.

I strongly disagree. It definitely isn't confusing at all. The only way it would be confusing is if the color for arcade champions is of the same, or a similar color as a staff member's color. Of course, I'm requesting it's own color of a completely different hue/tone altogether. All someone would have to do is place the mouse cursor over their name, and wait less than one second, then they'll see what color means what. There's no way anyone can get confused by one simple color.
Apparently, the arcade does have an impact on the forums. Like I said before, it could bring back those guys who haven't been posting in a while. Members would see that champions get a user name color and play in the arcade even more, thus possibly beating the high score of the other champions, and bringing them back. I'm the only active member out of all of the other champions, if I got bored and became inactive, you could bet that I'd come back to get the title back after someone else has beaten it.
I want this a hell of a lot, so much in fact, that I can almost taste it. I'd even risk a banning to get it. Why are you being so difficult about this? I only asked for a color, not a missile.

First, if you did get name colors, then I would have to annihilate your score on Spaced Invaders, so it would be meaningless to you. Secondly, people who get high scores should get trophies in there profile for each specific game just like they do on every other forum that has arcades. It's not that difficult to do, either...

I say you should get a silver star next to your name, or a little gold trophy or something. but i think if arcade champions get a little gold trophy then Senior/Veteran members should have a silver star next to their names since its a lot more work to do that than win a game...

Yeah about the senior members part, not just in our profile.
But anyways, they send out PM's to the members who have been defeated by a new champion right?
And that's how they figure out that they need to come back and arcade again?
I think it's a great idea, really. Especially the part about they look around, probably decide to post around some and whatnot.
Especially once it gets really competitive, it would take longer for someone to get knocked off the champion spot, so continually having a change in color shouldn't really be much of a problem.
The recognition helps morale some, I think too, just like how Senior Members are proud being what they are.
