Can the various FF smilies be removed? The only time I ever see them get used is like this: Which is just plain annoying. Or at least somehow restrict their use in the shoutbox, if possible.

I agree it lags my shoutbox when loads of smilies are posted in one go!
It happened before and I know something happened to someone..I'm not sure but their must be a restriction to how many smilies you can use at one time!

I've seen shoutboxes actually freeze because of being overloaded with smilies.
I don't think there is a built in option that can limit the amount-at least, that is what I last remember. (That's Decado's area...) But staff is usually around and will stop that if they can.

I know Tifa gets on people quickly if they are shouting stupidly in shout. *Remembers just last week.*

Normally if people use a lot of smilies in one shout, the shout gets deleted the second a mod spots it. Although I don't really think deleting them is neccessary, limiting the number of smilies per shout could be useful.

The members highly enjoy the various FF smilies, therefore they will not be removed. However we will take sufficient action in any case if we see smilies being abused in the shoutbox. In fact, I think we need to go ahead and have them banned if not disabled from the shoutbox because they cause so many problems in the shoutbox. Since this matter has been cleared:

edit: the smilies have now been permanently disabled from use in the shoutbox.
