spam reducer idea

ok if you check th hedgehogs of legion topic you will notice that there is a lot of misc. talking by the clan members if you were to allow bracnh sites then this "talk" would be placed on the clan site and the admin could arrange it how ever they want and you could make a clan be more accountable for their members by this cause people won't want their clan disbanded cause of one stupid person that joined just to spam and member join rate will increase due to the wider site hit rate.

it is ok if you don't revise the rule i just thought you would want to know that sites that do this have less then half the amount of spamers and about twice the amount of member joining and staying.

There is no post count in that forum, so it's not classed as spam... technically.

Those threads are allowed for general discussion amongst clan members, though it is advised to stay in relation to RPG Inferno.

I found your post somewhat hard to read, so I may have missed something. Grammar always helps. ;D

Hmm, I'm going to let you all know first off, that I'm definitely a newb to this topic, but it interests me, now that I've read what you've posted, and if I'm correct in my assumptions, that you want there to be extra sites and/or forums for each clan?

Wouldn't that be a lot of work? Because then the staff would have to make a new website for each clan, and they have their hands full as it is.. Having them make a new website, for every single clan that is made would be a ridiculous(no offense) thing to ask for.

Also, is it true that a clan will be disbanded because one member acts inappropriately?

It was always my thought that if someone acts out, that single person gets warned.. not the rest of the clan members. (Though I've never been in a clan, so if I'm wrong, you have my apologies.)

So though I disagree with you, it could just be that I didn't understand you clearly. Sorry. (Nice picture of Albel Nox, btw

i don't know and if it is then the clan could just work under the site easly but like this the admin would know when they do cause there are always noobs who will post the site address

most sites will punish the entire clan when a person breaks the rules because they have no easy way to figure out the leader and the clans would create a stricter code for itsmembers to follow.

you did come up with some good points but if you were to noticed it would make the site kinder to members who are in and out of clans

Yeah but I don't really think that the source of spam comes from their not being kind to clan members.

Also, if you are saying that the clan would make their own forum, you still would have to have it approved by a mod, and there are a lot of clans out there, so it would still require a lot of work. This in turn would make their productivity drop, and they wouldn't possibly be able to get everything done, and so don't you think that when one clan is left in the dark due to the mods being overloaded, then they have to deal with complaints, and while they are doing all this work, they won't be able to moderate other sections efficiently, and that this may actually increase the spam rate?

That's just how I'm visualizing this to turn out.

Also, you said that they have no way to track down the clan leader. Well, you don't really NEED to take up one member's faults with the clan leader. Just punish the person who is acting out, and if the clan leader is efficient, he will see what's up.

You know, I have seen forums with what you are talking about (individual member run boards), but they also have a heck of a lot less main boards. I also don't think having board for every clan would get enough responses to warrant making them.

I can only see this being a problem. If each clan has a dedicated site, there would have to be mass links which would only increase the load on the server. Also, I don't see how this would increase hit rates for the forum, just by linking to other sites

I suggest that, if you want a clan to have a site.. get one of your members to make one. It isn't that hard, and that way you don't have to worry about FFF being slowed down. It's up to your clan to do that. Not FFF.

i can understand you idea but do you think that the topics take up less space cause i know that they don't a single post has more data then a link so if there was one post for it all then it would take aprox.1/5 the space that is currently being used

and about what random. virus said that is what i am talking about but one of the admin said we can't and this topic is to revise that part of the rule

For us to host own sites for clans (which is what I gather the OP wants), is out of the question.
