Disable smilies in the shoutbox.
It's getting pretty annoying, because they're making the shoutbox screwy. it's because the smilies are bigger than the messages being sent. >>:C

Unless it's the  smiley, then yes, I think it does make the SB jump up a bit. Because it is pretty big space-wise.
Otherwise, I don't notice the shoutbox getting 'jumpy'.

The smilies are fine as far as I've seen. They can be overused sometimes but that's just annoying, not really harming anyone.

What is your screen resolution at?
What browser you using?
Is it blocking javascript?

Back when I was able to use the shout box, I've seen plenty of smilies being dropped. I've never seen anything out of the ordinary.
