How has everyone been? I hope everyone is doing fine. I am doing good. Tonight I went to a free showing of The Labyrinth . It has been a long time since I have seen that. So, it was very nice to see it again. It is perhaps, one of my favorite movies.
Tomorrow, or the next night I will go to see Star Trek: Into Darkness for my birthday. It looks really awesome, and I am looking forward to seeing it.

I have 1 or 2 guys I regularly chat FF related stuff with but i'm always worried that perhaps I bore them with my rantings sometimes so I thought i'd look for a FF Forum. I was a member of one before which was fun (although I can't remember which one) so I decided to give it another go.

In terms of my FF 'career' as such;
I started with FFVII which I completed - although I never saw the full ending FMV due to a power cut. Typical.
then carried on through VIII - reaching Ultimecias castle
IX - I know I got past Terra but can't remember much past then.
X - Defeated Sin
XII - Fell out of love with this quite quickly; after 1st Esper.
XIII - Beat some giant head guy (bartholemeus or something?) before trading it in. Not a fan of this one at all; far too linear and just didn't feel right for me..

before going back and playing through
FFI, V & VI although I didn't get very far in any of these. Also completed FF Tactics Advanced, played alot of Crisis Core and a small amount of DoCerberus.

So, I guess i've not actually achieved much in terms of completing them but i'm a massive fan, especially of the music and Triple Triad.

Other things about me; I'm currently revising (procrastinating writing this intro) for my final year exams; I study business and marketing @ Lincoln.
I'm a big Manchester United fan and spend alot of my time playing other games; mainly strategy games on Steam (feel free to add me; iSmiff) such as Civ5 Tropico4, Football Manager, Age Of Empires etc and am looking in to getting involved with The Third Age: Total War Mods.

Not sure what else to say really; any questions i'd be happy to answer them! I guess I just browse now..

I found these forums while crawling the web looking for some good RP sites. My main want from the site is to role play I suppose.

I've been a final fantasy fan since '95 when I picked up FFIV (Released as III, I was confused when 7 came out haha.) and 6 remains one of my favorite in the series, with only 9 ahead of it. 4 and 8 tie for 3rd place haha.

Aside from FF, I also enjoy several other RPG's, and many other genre of games. I also enjoy reading, writing, and biking.

I am in school for a triple major in Anthropology(With a focus in Archaeology), Sociology, and Queer and Feminist Theory. Although I am somewhat of a "Jack of all trades."

Anyway, I look forward to interacting and engaging with everyone who I can! Pleasure meeting any and all of you!

Much to my surprise, it had several interesting threads containing intelligent conversation with complete sentences and proper syntax--something of a rarity these days. I have long believed the intelligent conversation to be dead on Final Fantasy sites; you've happily proven me wrong.

A little about myself: I have been a fan of Final Fantasy since playing FFVI (or FFIII as it was called) on the SNES. Although I consider FFX to be my "favorite" (it's the one I've played the most times all the way through), I love most of the games in the series despite some of their shortcomings. My affinity for these games was not shared by my friends in the old days. Many of the kids in my schools never played the games and expressed no interest in them. They either enjoyed platformers or FPS games, and lost interest whenever I attempted to discuss the complexity of the FF plots. My college days saw little change other than a friend that watched his little cousin play through FFXII.

Indeed, outside of online communities, it's been rather difficult to find FF fans. Recently, I've taken to crafting fans out of my friends by sitting them down to watch me play. It was the only way to get them to understand the greatness of the franchise and dispel the myth that almost everyone seems to have: that the games are sequential continuations of one-another. I found that many people are turned off to the series because they fear picking up FFXIII without having played FFs I-XII, believing that they would be at a terrible disadvantage plot-wise. Now that my friends understand the independent structure of the characters, stories, and gameplay, they're more open to the franchise and have even purchased some of the earlier games.

Unfortunately, they are still greenhorns, so it isn't particularly stimulating to discuss with them Lightning's radical shift in behavior between XIII and XIII-2, or marvel at the irony in FFVIII where Seifer looks to Laguna as a role model whereas Squall sees him as a moron. Hence what brought me here, lol.

Aside from the FF aspect of my life, I'm also a fan of various animes, mangas, movies and books. Whenever I'm not playing Mass Effect 3 with my friends, I enjoy building Gundam models and lending my voice to fandubbing projects. I'm also a political scientist, so I spend the rest of my time writing and giving speeches on foreign and domestic policies.

Anyway, that's enough of an introduction for now. I'm Squigsquasher. I've always been interested in Final Fantasy, but never really got into it until I picked up Final Fantasy XIII second hand. Despite all the negative reviews, I'm actually rather enjoying it, and ever since I've been wanting to try more FF games.

So far, I've started playing XIII, XIII-2 (which is a massive improvement over XIII) and I've also started playing VII on my PS Vita, although I haven't got very far on any of them. I haven't played enough games to call a favourite, but I love XIII-2 so far, and obviously VII is just great. I'm pondering playing VI next, as I have a SNES emulator on my PC, and from what I've heard it's a masterpiece.

I'm still a relative newcomer to the series, so please excuse any stupidity...

Some of my other interests include other video games, particularly LittleBIGplanet, The Legend of Zelda (although I will shamefully admit I have only ever played Zelda games on emulators) and an obscure title called Phantom Crash, anime, especially Neon Genesis Evangelion, Shinryaku! Ika Musume (Squid Girl) and anything by Ghibli, tabletop wargaming, specifically Warhammer 40,000 (I play Tyranids) and drawing. I also enjoy writing silly fanfiction and doing extremely daft CYOAs (Choose Your Own Adventures).
