Friends

I came to a realization over the last couple days. My "friends" suck.

I went to the local high school graduation ceremony yesterday evening, saw a bunch of people I hung out with at school, socialized for a bit, all that stuff. Told a couple people I thought were cool that I was looking to party, and if they heard of anything, they should hit me up. Gave them my number and everything, and they said "Yeah, for sure. I'll do that." About 20 minutes ago I look on Facebook and see one of my friends post a status, saying "No maTTER what imma get down tonight" I comment on it that I'd need a ride and I'd be down to chill, too. Have yet to hear anything back. This is one of the same people I gave my number out to yesterday who told me TO MY FACE that they would hit me up if they heard of anything going on. Seems like there's only one person I can rely on anymore in this town, and I hear that he's planning on going to Texas to visit someone soon.

Fuck these people. /end rant

I've had a number of "friends" like that back in high school, i ditched them not too long after they blew me off time after time. I'd suggest you do the same, there are better people out there. Just keep looking, i'm sure you'll find a couple worth your time and that want to hang out with you.

I'm about to. It's one thing if it's been weeks or months since I talked to them and they didn't realize I was still here. But when I JUST saw them, it kinda pisses me off a little.

Don't let it get to you, the people that have wronged you will pay for it later in the long run.

I'm kinda in the same situation with my (local) friends. My situation is a little different, but I can still understand. It helps to know so many people in other places of the world, for one thing, but even if you don't, just try not to hold anything against your former friends, since all that really does is hurt you, not affect them in any way.

A lot of things in life happen in stages; friends are one of them. For a while you'll really work well with a certain group of people, but then with time you may end up maturing in some way that they don't, or just in general everybody takes a different path through life and coming back together doesn't work so well any more. It can be tough to transition during times like this, but like Xanell said, there are always better people for you out there, and if you look hard enough you'll find some of them eventually

Like LukeLC said, don't burn bridges. It sucks when friends don't include you in events, but there may be legitimate reasons. Maybe it slipped their mind to invite you. Maybe they didn't check their FB after posting. Maybe they are just in the stage of their life where they are being real Dbags. But if you look past all of that, not being invited to a party is a lame reason to kill a friendship. Give it some time then confront them, but don't escalate your anger towards them.

I understand what you are saying, but it's kinda hard to NOT when it happens time after time after time. It wouldn't be so bad if it was only once or twice, but this is an ongoing thing.
