Aye, dxdiag.exe it's the DirectX Diagnostic tool. Useful for advanced users if they want to spot any driver conflicts, and sometimes if you go to a company's tech support because you had a problem running a game, they'll ask you to go in here and hit some option in there somewhere that'll put all this info in a .txt file that you can copy and paste to them.
DirectX is pretty much responsible for running all the advanced graphics and sounds that games and other media might demand. And when I'm shopping for a PC at Best Buy or somewhere similar I like to get into this little diagnostic tool on their display models because stores aren't always forthcoming with all of their computer's stats, they usually just try to "wow" us with the complex names and model numbers of the graphics cards and processors. The ram is about the only straightforward thing they ever list.
