My little bother is autistic. Honestly, I never took it too seriously. He talks a little. If you ask him: "How are you?" He'll say: "Good". He only responds with single words. He does cover his ears when there are loud nosies. My parents spoil my little bother. So if he doesn't get what he wants he will start stomping his feet, start screaming, and biting his arm until he bleeds.

For a while he was obsessed with Final Fantasy VIII. Thats the only game he would play. It took him a while but he did beat the final boss. Of course, with my help.

@dhaos i know that too! my mum tries to drill it into my head that i may be different but i can still be successful

@mystrila i am the same (apart from the whole stomping and biting my arm)

Same here. I've had it since I was 3, but I was never told until I turned 14. It was a big shock to learn of it, especially since I thought that I had nothing wrong with me. I have medium levels of OCD, which means that I do little rituals and stuff like knocking on cupboard doors and turning the TV to a specific channel. Despite these things, I never let Asperger's get me down. I wouldn't ever mention it to people at school, because they probably won't understand/care.

I've been labeled and diagnosed with every autism spectrum related disorder there is, but nobody can specify it. One time it's this, then it's that... It doesn't matter that much to me, anyway. I'm myself, with all the pros and cons that comes with it. Autism and such things are very personal individual things. To try and make it easy for people to understand what kind of people they are is a futile task...as everyone is different, with or without a related disorder. Labeling won't work...or at least, not on the whole. It's like trying to label a band that blends 10 musical styles together and still have their unique sound...is it pop? Is it gothic? is it even metal? No, it's that band...you can't label it, no matter how hard you try to...if you do try, you'll find yourself sticking a lot of labels on that one thing, and that doesn't make it easy for people to understand at all.

I'm intelligent, can learn very well, am artistic...I just have several social issues, but virtually everyone has those at some level, which is understandable. There's tons of people out there worse off than me, even if they don't have a related disorder.

So yeah... anyone who believes people with such disorders are drooling idiots and nerds with no life whatsoever seriously need to broaden their horizons...
