I heard this game was only worth buying if you wanted to watch a game instead of playing it. I think someone said it was like Devil May Cry gone retarded.

It was worth a try, but the aiming system was one hell of a let down. It just depends on your choice of games, I guess.

Okay, I was going to start a thread asking a similar question, but the Mods would get on me about making a thread that already exists. I'm planning on buying this game for my friend for his graduation, but I'm wondering if it'll really be worth the purchase. He's a HUGE fan of Final Fantasy. I know he owns a lot of them. I'm just wondering if this'll be worth the $50 I'll be spending on it.

its a pretty ok game i beat it in a day nonstop playing of course and i might play it if i'm bored and want to kill a few things

Yeah, it is similar but I prefer this game to DMC2 although I think DMC2 has more of a replay value. |

Sure it's worth it since it's released. I mean I'm not too thrilled on the whole idea of Squenix milking out the FFVII Compilation, but it does expand on some mystery areas on FFVII dealing with Vincent.
I'd say as long as you don't use it in comparison to the main series games for Final Fantasy's, it'll work out fine for ya.

Actually it's a Third Person Shooter, and it's deffinately not a terrible game, just not the best FF out there
