Geostigma in DOC

I know this belongs in the DOC section, but it will not load for some reason.

In the scene in Kalm where the Deepground attacks, you may have noticed that on the soldier visors some people show up red and others show up yellow. At first I thought this was just possibly showing which ones were male and which ones were female, but apparently it is showing which one's are "tainted". Tainted with what you ask? Well in one of the scenes (I believe the one with the woman and her child getting taken) on the visor it says "geostigma detected" when the woman gets in front of the visor, and she glows red. In the Ultimania book, however, they said that geostigma was exclusive to advent children only, so are they contradicting themselves there? The only explanation that makes sense is the "tainted" people are the ones who have had geostigma and recovered, but still have jenova cells, or that Aerith's rain did not fall outside of Edge/Midgar and people still have Geostigma.

Thoughts???

I'll shift this to the DOC section then xD

Perhaps the Ultimania was created before DOC got created? That would explain why they said it was limited to AC only...

i agree this is probably why or it could be wrong, there are quite a few links between ac and doc if you notice in ac when they have the motor bike chase you see a sign where there are roadworks that say WRO which is the world regen organisation in DOC. some people may still have geostigma as they still have not yet been touched by the holy water, the as at the end of AC denzel had not been cured until cloud took him into the water.

Yeah that does seem like the only explanation, I've just started DoC again myself and was wondering about that. So the ones who are tainted cannot be chucked into the lifestream to awaken Omega- basically anyone with geostigma or any kind of Jenova affliction. Which made me think also that Deepground must have been created without the use of Jenova cells, since Weiss was supposed to have been "pure"

Ngh, why don't they put more thought into it when they make these games??!?

Although, DoC takes place a year after advent Children, it is highly likely that the Geostigma was not completely cured, and there is a very small group of people who still have it.

Weren't the Deepground soldiers made like, long before AC and only recently unearth themselves?

If that is the case, how would they know what Geostigma is?

I highly doubt this. Aerith's healing rain not only cured people who had the stigma, but it was supposed to have removed and wiped any form of the stigma on the planet. These people were hidden and unknown long before AC or anything of that, so it's highly probable that they didn't know what the stigma was.

Also, they would have all been dead by then when it comes to Geostigma. Not only was it deadly, but it was a quick killer. You should read Case of Denzel. It explains a lot more about the stigma. Also, they would have had to had some sort of contact with the lifestream or an infected person in order to get the stigma and they showed no signs of having it. So yeah, highly doubtful. And considering the game took place a year after AC, those people would have been dead by then. People with geostigma didn't live that long.

This is intresting but maybe the people who are 'unpure' use to have the stigmar because if the DG were looking for pure people they would be looking for people who have never been tainted so the people could have had the stigma but have gotten rid of it.

Well, I had my question answered elsewhere

Aerith's healing rain cured everyone of Geostigma, but it removed the Jenova Cells only from those who were in Edge. People in Kalm are not inflicted with the stigma, but the cells inside of them make them "tainted" as oppossed to Cloud and Denzel who are "pure" and no longer have the cells.
