This Game Is Important...
It's just hit me just how important this game really is.
The story is before the events of FFVII, so they need to get this game absolutely perfect. There are hardcore FFVII fans out there, including myself and we will spot even the smallest of mistakes in the timeline.
I remain hopeful but i'm worried about the battle system. I hope to god we don't see the FFXII battle system in an FFVII game, because it will not feel like an FFVII game. FFVII on the PS1 felt so unique because of the materia system, and i can only hope that they will use this some how. I have been told that the same system from FFXII is going to be in Crisis Core which makes me wonder if it'll feel like an FFVII game.
Then there's the locations. They must stay true as possible to the FFVII game.
Now, i don't want to discuss this too much because someone might reply with a spoiler, but the ending.... I'm worried about how the game will end. If the game ends on a high point e.g The World is safe and everyone is ok, then FFVII on the PS1 wouldn't have made sense, but if the game finishes and has a sad ending where it looks like all hell is going to break loose, where do we go after there?? People who buy Crisis Core and have never played FFVII before will be confused. I haven't played FFVII for a while so i'd be confused. Surely Crisis Core can't tie up ALL loose ends. Maybe there will be a Crisis Core 2 , or FFVII re-released on the PSP or PS3 (hopefully the latter) so a new generation can play through it.
(the last paragraph is mainly what i wanted to say)
thanks for reading, hope to read some replies soon..

I think the ending will be the obvious one, the Nibelhelm incident and what happens after it. the Genesis stuff will be explained before that hopefully. and we'll get to know all about Zack and Aeriths relationship, and why she thinks he's left her for someone else, and his relationship with his parents.

yeah that sounds about right. It's a shame they released the prequel 10 years after the original game itself, because we know the story inside out, but i'm glad they've not forgot about the classic that is Final Fantasy VII. I just hope they don't destroy the legacy, because in my opinion, this game is much more important than Dirge Of Cerberus or any other FF7 spin-off.

Well Crisis Core is basically Last Order in game form with a lot of other stuff thrown into the mix as well, so what was in there will all be covered. A nice theory on the ending is that it will finish where FFVII began. I.e. Cloud being recruited by AVALANCHE for the Reactor job. I like the sound of that.
And don't worry, materia will play a part in CC it seems, as Genesis is described as "a master of magic and the blade" or word to that effect.

lol at the FFXII comment. Anyway, I heard you can customise Materia in this. If so, then why wasn't customising in FFVII?
As long as materia is in this, it's an FFVII game. No random battles, it doesn't matter.
Crisis Core 2? Too much hm?

that sounds really, really nice. I doubt this would happen, but imagine if this was the ending:
Zacks story is finished and you now see cloud is in a daydream...and in the daydream, he jumps off the train and has the fights with the guards, then he enters the Mako Reactor and says something like 'i want this mission to be over with quickly...' then the game ends on the PSP.
then they re-do FF7 on the PS3 and cloud wakes up from his day dream and starts FF7 from the train again....
i wish i worked at Square-Enix, i'd make them so much money but give the fans EXACTLY what they want

What's that all about then? I haven't heard anything about how materia or magic will actually be used yet...

Well I'd say the game will almost certainly cover Cloud & Zack's escape from ShinRa and Zack's death, so that ending is pretty likely. I'd like to see it.

Because in FFVII Avalanche was a terrorist group, and didn't have access to Shinra's technology of Materia customization.
And part of the story of CC will happen in the same time of BC. Meaning that maybe, some things will not have an explanation(because they already are explained in BC).

Wasn't BC set about ten years before the events of FFVII though, and CC is only a few years, or maybe even months before?
