How concious are you of your own safety?

I'm not at all, especially when Im rat arsed running to the shop all the time in the dark for more alcohol or whatever.

I always have my head phones in and Im normally daydreaming

Some girl got dragged in a car last night at about 10/11 oclock and was raped. It's fucking shocking round here and I really need to start being more aware of whats going on

My mates just as bad, she will walk round here at whatever random time then back to her mums (usually drunk) at a daft hour in the morning and this involves walking past a huge field and also some bloody woods

We actually now get out dosh together so she can get a taxi back, but she used to just make a run for it

Im glad she got a taxi home last night

Fucking twats, you can't even wander to the shop any more without being ambushed...

Don't I live in such a lovely area

hmmm, same here.

At a school near us, a few years back, there was a stabbing. I just find it hard to believe that kids around my age are doing such things.

Plus, a girl in my homeroom (just came in this year) has already been expelled for drug dealing, and the worst part is that quite a number in my year are already smoking dope, and I go to a bloody private christian school

Yet, usually when I'm walking about, I'm day dreaming. Ahhh, this reminds me of a few months ago.

I was walking my dog at about 9pm (don't ask why) and I go to the place where I usually go, and its pitch black, and I hear drunk/stoned voices. I literally ran back home.

I'm quite conscious of my safety, I live in a horrible area too.

A woman got raped just round the corner from me once, and once at night I was still awake and heard a woman's screaming coming from outside, and after a while saw flashing lights through the curtains of what I can only assume was an ambulance/police car.

It gets really scary round here at night, there are these horrible flats at the bottom of my street, and I hate walking past them in the summer when I go round to the shop because there's always drunken neds hanging around outside shouting at each other and starting fights. And so many times at night when I'm in my bed or whatever, and I hear drunk people shouting outside my house, as if I'm not paranoid enough when it's silent. >_>

I am definitely quite conscious of my safety and it probably a resilt of my mum being quite protective of me. None of my group of friends like to be outside too much at night, at least not anywhere near other people. We'll sleep on the beach or camp in the corner of a farmer's field or something. I tend not to go out on the streets at night ... anytime I'm forced to do so (i.e. walking for a bus on the way back from a party/gig) I've ALWAYS had bother with the local cretin and it just kills your enthusiasm. Even in broad daylight, or in a public place, I'm always thinking who might be looking at me inconspicuously, thinking about how they could grab me.

I'm...kind of in-between. It really depends. Sometimes I don't really think about it and I suppose that's when my guard is down, but when it does come to mind, then I'm alert with my surroundings as a fox.

Here where I currently reside in, it is a very dangerous place filled with dangerous people. You say hi to someone and it will look as if that person's deciding whether to say hello back or shoot you on the spot. And there are LOTS of these people here. Heck, in this state it's even legal to carry a concealed weapon...no wonder I keep hearing about people getting shot every week.

So I would also say that the environment and place is also a factor. In Cali, especially in that one suburb I grew up in, I was more relaxed and at ease with my own safety. But now that I'm far away from home, it's entirely a different matter.

I'm not that conscious of my own safety, I'm more concerned with the safety of others. I often find myself watching children when they stray away from their mother, make sure no sicko snatches them up. But at night, when walking my dog, I take a thick stick with me to try and fend off any arse hole willing to attack me. A few months ago someone shot our car window. From that night afterward, it's me with a big stick. Plus, I have my 120lbs dog to bite somebody's arse

I feel real unsafe whenever I'm alone. But yet that makes me feel like I'm in power, giving me the delusion that i would be able to thrash anyone that pops against me..
Not that i ever did that to find out, but its a weird feeling, and i don't intend to experience it.
Other than that, i think you can generally say I'm concious about my safety

I rarely even think about my safety wherever I am. There are a few dodgy areas around Carlisle, but luckily I'm not in them for much. I'm close to one of them, but never need to head that way. It does have a terrible reputation since there's regular burglaries and arson attacks on some streets.
I used to have to cross a couple of bad places when going to/from a friend's house and had abuse thrown at me among other things on a few occasions, but luckily I was never hurt. I suppose when I think about it, Carlisle is a pretty safe place to live unless you go out towards where my sister lives.

I'm not very concious of my safety. I go about my days as if nothing's gonna happen to me.

I only think about safety while driving. Driving makes me paranoid...
