There's this guy in my town called Andy Pandy, and he's like the town drunk or something. He always wears the same woolly jumper and comes up to you in the street saying 'Hi, I'm Andyyyyy Pandyyyyy!', and then tries to make conversation with you or something. I remember once I was in the car with my mum waiting at a crossing, and he came up and knocked on the car window where I was sitting and gave this inane grin, it scared the hell outta me. And once he was chasing one of my friends down the street asking for one of her Chewits. O_o Gawd, he was either perma-drunk or just off his rocker, he used to pretend he was a ballerina and dance in the middle of the street. If I was waiting outside a shop or something and saw him coming I would just bolt it in the opposite direction. XD

I HATE drunk people out in the streets.

The one's that get on my nerves the most are total randoms who ask you if you've got a light - particularly, drunken chavs. We had a run-in with one not too long ago, where he insisted one of us looked like his pal, "Big Jock". When we said we had no idea who that is, he asked us if we had any drink. We said no, he insisted we were lying - if we had it, we'd be drinking it. He then proceeded to demand a light and that we were lying if we said we didn't have one. He was gonnae smash all four of us, all on his own.

Asking for a light is the most common thing. One stranger came across to us the other night - now, granted, we were laughing at the fact that he was a dottery old drunk, but still, he was undesirable company. He just stood there and blew his cigar smoke into our faces. He stottered around and just ... stood there, asking us random questions - everything from "do you smoke?" to "how's yer maw keeping?"

MANNERS, jesus shitting christ.

Pet peeves:

Old women who are adamant that all youngsters are ignorant shits and so feel the need to be snappy old cows to US. Nahhh, I don't stand for that and I've had many a stand-off with them in public places.

Folk who are blatantly ignorant when you hold the door open for them and don't acknowledge you OR hold the door themselves, thereby making you stand there, waiting for the next person to come and hold it.

Twats who bump into you and just screw their faces when they look at you and don't apologise or anything.

I know that's not particularly related but it still involves strangers. ;D

Are you sure you didn't mistake him for Cara?

Anyway, one time I was on my way home from the shops - I went to get some milk - and these girl chavs asked me 'Do you have any drink?' and I was like 'No' (in retrospect, I should have said 'Yes - milk') and then as I walked off one of the girls said something like 'Fat cow' or something and I laughed because she was like... well lets just say she was far fatter than I.
The comebacks of these people are profound, I must say. If one of them insults you and you say something back they are so awestricken that they just say 'shut up!' and walk off. Fools.

I always find it better to just ignore people who have no manners, unless you're alone and some guy who is bigger than you or has the ability to pummel you into the ground asked you a question because I'd rather not be.

A funny thing about chavs, I always relate my experiences with them to that episode of Skins in series 1, where Michelle's walking home and a few girls stop and ask her if she's giving them cheek [which is lawlworthy, given they're cheeky shagpots]. Michelle's like "what does that even MEAN?" and then the "leviathan of a whale" pops along and kicks the shit out of Sid.

Yeah.

I absolutely agree. I asked a middle aged lady for something at a second hand shop (don't ask), and she looked pretty pissed off that I didn't say please, and said that I was forgetting something. I was the flaming end of the day, I looked pretty hot and bothered. At least I wasn't ORDERING her to give it to me. I didn't even ask directly, I asked if it was there. Alot of middle aged and elderly people are so quick to assume that all teenagers are rude and need discipline. I think it's good natured, but the mature ones get victimised too.

Another time, in high school, I was in a pretty pissed off mood, and I forgot to say "thank you" to a teacher for holding the door open. Who grasped me by the shoulder and said "you're forgetting something".

Just because I forget my manners once in a blue moon, it isn't grounds to be treated like dirt by adult strangers. I'm almost as "grown up" and mature as any 25 year-old in most respects, and I almost always have good manners. Something that pisses me off from time to time.

I agree with this, and this reminds me how my Mum and I talk about this when we're out and about. For example, I constantly hear old people talking about 'the youth of today' and saying how rude they are towards the older generation and how they're oh so selfish when in reality it's quite the opposite.
I'm not saying for one minute that all youngsters are angels and all old people are demons, but I often see young people opening doors for the elderly and being friendly towards them, but old people tend to think 'Oh well, I've done my bit in life so I'll forget about my manners (if they ever had them)' and don't bother saying 'Thank You' or show any sign of gratitude. Also a couple of weeks ago at the local bus station I was sitting in the bus stance and this old woman came into the stance and practically stared at me as if to say 'get up' even though there was more room, but I got up nevertheless because I felt she was going to sit too close to me anyway, and then like 5 minutes later she dropped a piece of paper on the ground and it really angered me because it's so hypocritical. It's not the first time I've seen some old git throw litter on the ground where there was a bin nearby - I guess they don't give a crap because they're not the ones that have to deal with it in the end.

Ugh my normal health visitor cam round today and I like her, she's been off on materninity leave but the one I was seeing while she was off I wasnt all that keen on

I hate when people come into your house and pass comment just because it's untidy. It wasn't dirty it was just TOYS and she even wrote in the notes that i didnt have my cushion covers on my settee. Had she thought to ask she would have known they werent on because they had been washed after my mate spilled her drink all over my settee

I mean, I could have just left it to stain if she had preferred the stupid woman, anyway, me and my normal had a bitch about her ignorance

Im glad I won't be seeing her again She's off on maternity leave herself now, lets see how tidy she keeps HER house
