Advertisment images
Alright, I'm sure we have all seen the advertisement images at the top of the forums. I'm just wondering if I am the only one who does a double take at them whenever the images that include females come up.
I mean, I'm not complaining. I can dig a hot cartoon girl as much as the next guy, but I'm just wondering if that is totally necessary. :p
Thoughts?

I never realised how bad the adverts were until my PC died and I lost adblock.
I don't think the site owner has any power over what adverts are displayed though, but they annoy me in general anyway so I just adblock the lot.

The ads make me laugh.. like if somebody says 'gay' in a thread then you get lots of ads for same sex dating agencys.

I'm not going to lie, it's pretty funny. And no, I don't believe the site owner has any power over that all. He simply inserts the proper code into the template and then the rest is handled by google or whatever company he is using for the ads.
In return for the ad-space, the owner gets a little bit of money that he uses to pay for the site fees or just whatever he wants.
I just think a few of these are kind of more provacative then they need/should be.

Why don't you guys just use the Firefox browser and the AdBlock plugin? That takes care of the problem and you don't have to whine about seeing OH NOES! HALF NAKED WIMMINZ! It's useful to have for plenty of other sites anyway.

Totally agree on that, google advertise everywhere O_O and lots of websites look for nicer when the google ads have been blocked. Like Myspace, for example.

I noticed that, when I was reading the "Is Axel Gay?" thread and there was an advert for gay models or something along those lines 
But they don't really bother me, I just ignore them. Though I did get duped by the "10 rules to losing belly fat" one
