Definitions:
Faith: Belief in God, or in the teachings and doctrines of religion
Hope: Belief in the obtainment of an ideal, possession, or happening
Hopeless: Belief in the impossibility of attaining what is wanted or needed, falling into despair
The Background:
In the future, God has returned to a world in ruin, and decided upon its final destruction. God was once more alone in this world, and through his loneliness, devised a new plan. He decided that he would rebuild a new world, a new civilization worthy of existence. The Garden of Eden would be restored, and as such, Eden was created anew. God had even sent ten of his most loyal Angels, to govern this new land. They were called ‘The Cardinals,’ a council who answered directly to God. But alas, through the ashes, arose a world that wasn’t exactly what God had imagined. Through human error, the Garden of Eden became as twisted as the world before it. God became dismayed, and as a result, the Angelic Cardinals began to represent ideals far different from their original holy intentions.
The Story:
In the Metropolis known as ‘Eden,’ life is anything but peaceful and harmonic. The Church governs the land, and only faith can bring people closer to their goal in the pursuit of happiness. In the years following the creation of Eden, God, impressed with the tranquil state of his beloved Garden, bestowed upon his creations a gift: magic. The Cardinals were told to instruct the people that through faith in the Lord, they would be able to harness their heavenly powers.
But whenever power is grasped within the hands of humans, they will find a way to abuse it. Corruption became the new way of life for the citizens of Eden. As a result, the Cardinals had to become the iron fist of the society. Eden was no longer the beautiful paradise it once was. There was no longer just one Church, but three: The Church of the Father, The Church of the People, and the Church of the End. Those who had fallen deeply into despair were called ‘The Hopeless.’ Between the Churches, wars broke up, forcing the inhabitants to segregate. Levels were created in the city, dividing the people into separate sectors that better fit their faith and their ranking in life. The Cardinals and their underlings resided in the level closest to Heaven; Sanctus. Those who worshipped in the Church of the Father, lived in the level Patris. Those from the Church of the People, lived in Populus. The level below that belonged to the Church of the End; Exitus. The last level, and the most nightmarish and horrid of them all, belonged to The Hopeless; Malefidus. The quality of life become far worse, the further down you go in the city. The two bottom levels, Exitus and Malefidus, are never even blessed with sunlight.
To make matters even worse for the residents of Eden, the Cardinals had become increasingly crafty in their game. They issued minimal food rations of tasteless, processed soy-like products, which was just enough to sustain the lives of the citizens living there. To aid in their security, they began to embrace science, and created the most profound surveillance system the world has ever known. At birth, all infants were implanted with brain chips, that allowed visual and audio recording of their entire lives, as well as transmission of their brain waves, to whichever Agency had called for them. It made getting away with crimes virtually impossible in Eden. Yet, despite that, people still disobeyed the words of God, and found themselves in the lowest levels of the City.
God taught his people, that the only way for them to ascend in Eden, to live in a higher level, was to prove their faith to him. Those that committed crimes of blasphemy, were either executed, or forced to live amongst the zombie-like inhabitants of The Hopeless. They had to prove their loyalty to the Lord, in order to be allowed into the next level. Faith was the only way a person could increase the quality of their life.
The Magic:
There are 10 different elements in all. Each spell will be titled as it’s Latin meaning. Each person will only begin with the first spell, and Perceptum. Perceptum can only be used
ONCE, on
ONE opponent. It will allow the caster to learn the last learned ability of the person they cast it on. For example: If my character was of the Fire Element, and I cast Perceptum on an Ice Elemental who just learned Validus Glacies, then I will now be able to use that spell.
In order to be able to use the next, lower spell on the list, you must successfully cast your available spell, TWICE. Keep in mind, it may not be in your best interest to allow others to know what element you are. As such, you may want to be crafty about your magic usage. You must PM me every time you cast a spell, so I can keep a chart of those that have successfully casted their magic.
Also, there will be two different parties with the ability to have elements, Cardinals and Citizens. So that means that 10 cardinals will be of the 10 different elements, and the same for the citizens. All elemental slots must be filled before another person can get the same element as another citizen.
The most important note:
YOU WILL ONLY TELL ME YOUR ONE ELEMENT, THROUGH PM.

The only way you can kill a person with magic alone, is if your element is strong against them. Otherwise, you will be doing an average amount of damage. Do note that Time magic is weak against every thing, because it is the magic with the most advantages, so it must come with a price. White magic isn’t weak against anything, because, as a White Mage, they’re already put at a disadvantage in combat. They’re primarily used for support, because they can heal all wounds, and can remove any status effects: poison, silence, zombie, etc.
Also keep in mind that it is possible to defeat others in combat with weapons and physical methods.
Combat Rules:
1. You may initiate combat with any character that your character has reasonable involvement with.
2. Be clever. It is not in your best interest to blatantly give away the element of your character’s magic.
3. Mind the consequences of your character’s actions.
4. If your character is killed, your next character will be forced to start off in Malefidus.
5. If you have a ‘Hopeless’ character, and they begin to worship in a Church, they will then be able to use an element and wield magic.
6. Whenever your character uses Perceptum on another character, you must PM me that action. A PM will be sent to the character whose magic is being learned, but they will not know who did it.
7. Be creative! Battles will be won decided upon plausibility. The more creative the attacks, and the more believable and well-thought out, the easier the victor will be chosen. I will be PMing each player after each post to let them know the status of their character.
8. This isn't meant to be complicated by any means. I wish to promote creative battling in this RP, so simply put: have fun with the battles, be creative, be descriptive, and I will be PMing you after each post, to let you know how your character is fairing during the battle.
The Coliseum:
The Coliseum is located in Sanctus, and is an event that happens every few weeks. Two citizens are chosen for a battle within the arena. Occasionally, Cardinals will choose more than two people for the duel.
The Coliseum can be volunteered for, so if any character wishes to challenge another within the arena, you must PM me with the request. If you just wish to volunteer yourself within the Coliseum, that is also allowed. About every two weeks, if there are not two people picked to battle in the Coliseum, I will choose a challenger for them.
If your character is defeated, you will have to make one choice:
1.) They will die.
2.) They will be forced to live in Malefidus, and will lose their ability to use magic.
If they win, and are from a level below Patris, they will be promoted to live in that level. They will also be given an extra Perceptum spell, so they can learn another skill.
If your character kills a Cardinal, they will take their position, and you will have two choices:
1.) You will receive 2 extra Perceptum spells.
2.) You will take the defeated Cardinal's element, and will be able to cast whatever spells they were able to. You will not be able to use spells from your former element.
Cardinals are able to oppose one another in the Coliseum only with strict evidence and consent of 'God' with the intent to harm and/or kill.
1.) If a Cardinal is found reasonably guilty of a crime against God or blasphemy, they may be engaged or challenged by another Cardinal to give a punishment along with God's or in place of what God's will should permit.
2.) Cardinals may NOT accuse one another with false evidence in order to settle differences or personal dislikes. If this is done, the Cardinal spitting the accusations may be then challenged.
The Churches:
The Hopeless: These people cannot use magic, and do not have any faith or hope for the future, they are the dregs of the city. Most of 'The Hopeless' suffer from the curse. As a result, they are forced to reside within Malefidus.
Church of the End: This is for those with no hope. They are sometimes called ‘The Enders,’ because they are the most violent of the churches. They comprise the level known as 'Exitus.' They believe that the end will happen, no matter what. They will die, and the end will come. So, they would kill those that try to stop the end from coming.
Church of the People: These can be best-compared to typical Christians. They are somewhat religious, and do their daily duties to Father and the city, this comprises most of the people in the City itself. They believe in God, and hope that he will save them in the end.
Church of the Father: These are the most extreme. They follow God's word entirely, and give all of their faith to him, blindly following whatever words are passed down from 'Father.' In the city, they’re located at the 2nd level, just below the building of the Cardinals, and are considered ‘those closest to God.’

Rules For The Different Churches:
Sanctus:
This is where many Cardinals, future Cardinals and servants to God reside which is located in the highest level of Eden, facing the sky. The most promising, gifted and worshipping of individuals are able to reside here due to their immense faith in God. As well, new comers are able to rise up to this level if they are able to prove their faith. Sanctus is guarded by heavy Iron Gates that open only for the Cardinals and God. One must be have recommendation from a Cardinal or backed by their entire Church with written/documented proof in order to gain passage as a spirit within the Gates is which analyzes and evaluates this person.
Within Sanctus resides Templum, which is the meeting place for all Cardinals to discuss their issues and concerns regarding any level within Eden. It is a large white, ivory looking Temple with large gold-wrapped pillars and sealed by heavy Golden doors adorned with several scriptures and writings from various Religions symbolizing faith and goodness. Within the Temple is a large, rounded stone table engraved with large religious symbols, one to match each Cardinal’s beliefs and upbringings. These symbols change whenever a new Cardinal is issued or an old one is replaced. The gold adornments are based on Hadrian’s wishes as the Ivory is based on Frejya’s. There are 10 seats resembling thrones as they are adorned in silver and gold at the table, one for each Cardinal. The reason for the table being rounded is to symbolize Equality amongst the Cardinals to ensure everyone is seen as equal and righteous in the eyes of God.
Templum:
A large Ivory Temple that holds the "Ark”, the table at which all the Cardinals are seated for Council meetings and discussion. Templum is centralized within Sanctus, while the small town surrounds it. The building itself is wreathed in gold along with a large set of doors 10 feet tall that are engraved with Religious interpretations and incantations. A large Ivory tower stands out with a large bell that toll at dawn, noon and evening. Within the entrance of Templum is a large foyer adorned with the Gods and Gurus of the varied Religions. One must walk through this foyer before being able to separate into the North, West or East wing of Templum.
The North Wing – Where the Ark is located. This is also the passage-way to a fairly large library or archives room that holds past information of city Eden along with important religious documents. The archives room is completely rounded but adorned with various shelves and holdings for scrolls, scriptures and books. The archives room is not as large as the library located in Exitus and contains many copies from that location; however, the original History of the multi-leveled Eden city, without changes to suit any of the Churches, resides here.
The East Wing – Hadrian’s Domain. This is also where much of Sanctus’ technology originates from due to Hadrian’s and the other workers’ commitment to up-holding its advances. The technological control is located in several different rooms in this wing of Templum, though much of it appears simplistic.
The West Wing – Frejya’s Domain. This is also where much of Sanctus’ beauty is maintained. Commitment to up-holding the nature and cleanliness comes from Frejya along with the workers’ in this division. A large green-house is located to the end full of plant-life while other rooms nurture animals and other organisms into a proper life when they are then sent into the nature of Sanctus to live.
Sanctus:
Sanctus is located at the top of Eden, as the highest level where the Cardinals reside. It is lush and full of nature. An invisible dome serves to protect the clean air of Sanctus and sustain the beautiful wild-life that resides here. Much of Sanctus is a forested and natural area as there are little inhabitants residing within Sanctus besides the Cardinals and their Servitors.
A thick, green forest full of wild-life surrounds the small town and Templum within Sanctus only interrupted by the small Portal Sphere posts and few guards. The Guards are usually posted near the town and entrance to Sanctus and rarely seen in the wilderness. Vast rivers and streams can be spotted throughout Sanctus, along with a mass waterfall known as “God’s Tears” that has been said to be located in Sanctus since before Eden’s recreation.
The town surrounding Templum is colourful and bright; full of lively inhabitants and friendly individuals that are looking forward to becoming future Cardinals, or have the highest faith and service to God and therefore being granted permanent residence within Sanctus. The day is bright and the temperature is always perfect.
However, the night of Sanctus is not as beautiful as one would expect. Darkness rolls in heavily and though stars shine bright through clear skies it seems that the town in Sanctus is shadowed with the illusions of demons and monsters, the invisible technology that is placed within the land is seen for its true structures, cold to the touch and dull gray in hue which is the reason for the quick curfew as one would be lost in dread to witness the beauty of Sanctus hidden under such horrors.
Sanctus upholds various rules based on various Religions and beliefs:
- One most prove their faith and obedience to God before pursuing permanent residence within Sanctus. This can be done through various acts including charity, prayer, and banquet.
- One shall address any concerns and issues to the Cardinals directly.
- One will obey God’s will without fuss or reasoning
- Acceptance is of the utmost importance
- One will not question another’s faith unless there is physical evidence behind it.
- Weapons and armour are to be given only upon escort to other locations for specific reasoning.
- One must be within their residence before darkness settles and awakened before the next sun.
- One will not trespass on the holy grounds of Templum unless given permission by Guard or Cardinal directly. Proof is needed and returned within written form.
Just entering evening and when darkness settles, Frejya, one of the Cardinals of Sanctus, wanders the nights within the cloak of shadow to ensure no one is above or beyond the rules set in place. If one is caught outside their residence in the evening without just reasoning, they are questioned, interrogated and accused of treachery and heresy to their faith by their fellow residents of Sanctus in the form of a Council created by the Cardinals.
Hadrian, the other Cardinal ruling Sanctus, watches at the wake of the morn, ensuring the same as Frejya, however, he is easier to speak to then Frejya and is given more public dominance and access as more followers arise during the day than in the evening. Hadrian represents the more public figure while Frejya is more of the enforcement and truth behind Hadrian’s words.
Transportation:
PORTALSPHERES;
A globe of suspended clear liquid held up by an ornate post. Portalspheres are connected in pairs and you can only teleport to the connected sphere’s location (the two posts are usually the same color to help distinguish)
SERVITORS;
Enchanted, armored guard units given the task of protecting Sanctus. They wander the expansive grounds.
Church of The Father:
-Highly totalitarian and puritan.
-Breaking any of the commandments, doubt, or blasphemy, will result in confrontation and inquisition for heresy. If a person is found guilty by the Trinity Court of The Father, they are punished accordingly. The implant chips and extensive surveillance systems normally ensure a quick conviction.
-All major meals are communal, and held in local banquet halls. It is not prohibited to hold private dinners, but enough food is generally hard to come by, as the granary stores and kitchens hold most of it, and such activities are viewed with suspicion. Not praying before main meals is a serious crime against God.
- The Patris Guardians are the primary fanatical foot guards of the church. There are other elite groups too, but these highly disciplined guards outnumber all others on the Patris level, and act as a paramilitary force. Foot guards can be conscripted at any time, and refusal to serve is considered heresy. The PG use a wide array of weaponry and equipment, though they are normally clad in lightweight black plate armour.
- All inhabitants must pray five times a day.
- There is a weekly confession day, at which people are allowed to confess and be forgiven with only a flogging.
-Any follower found commiting an act of homosexuality, aiding those of a homosexual nature or having knowledge of the existence of homosexual acts is immediately to be demoted and flogged. If the individual in question is found to have a second offense of this nature death will be the appropriate punishment.
-Any and all members of the Church of the Father must immediately and truthfully co-operate with any and all inquisition squads in the church. Failure of full honesty or with-holding any information is considered heresy. Any members up to the level of Cardinal can be held responsible and must acquiesce to any and all requests by an inquisitor and the inquisitors themselves only answer to the Holy Cardinals.
-Mostly Neo-Classical architecture.
-Western side is sparsely populated, compared to the East, although it still has many important buildings, and is a huge garden in its own right.
-East has more, larger buildings.
-Trinity, in the South-East, is the largest district-town of Patris, and is essentially its heart.
Commandments:
I. Thou shalt take only God as thy lord.
II. Thou shalt not blaspheme or doubt thy lord.
III. Thou shalt pray to thy lord at every quarter of the day.
IV. Thou shalt honour thy lord and His servants, always.
V. Thou shalt not kill another faithful.
VI. Thou shalt not steal.
VII. Thou shalt not lie.
VIII. Thou shalt not waste and pervert thy lord’s seed.
IX. Thou shalt be grateful for thy bread.
X. Thou shalt not want.
XI. Thou shalt serve thy lord and His holy servants upon His demand, and never question His will.
XII. Thou shalt be pure, and atone for thy sins.
XIII. Thou shalt honour thy family, comrades, and brethren, always.
Church Of The People:
Basics: Populus is more merciful on its citizens, compared to those in Patris. The Church's main goal in Eden is to have its followers develop a stronger faith in God in order to prepare themselves for the next levels.
Promotion: Based on the person's faith in Populus, a Cardinal, or God Himself may promote that person into the higher level of Patris. Such individuals are called "The Ascended." As for those rising from the lower levels, they are referred to as "The Redeemed."
Saints: A special title and recognition for any citizen of Populus, based not on faith alone, but on merit as well. This is the equivalent of being considered a national hero, a statesman. Cardinals and the Most High (God) are the ones to canonize the people worthy of such a title. It can be given postmortem.
[Populus]: A major modern city, divided into four districts (North, South, East, West). Within each of these sections are residential areas, schools, and business-purpose buildings, and a church. Technology, though not as richly advanced, is quite updated to support the population within the level. Few models for automobiles are present. Populus can be compared to a modern day city, though not as lively and traffic jammed. The idea is to see Populus as the place most similar to real life. My partner likes to see it as the level between Heaven and Hell, Purgatory. Within each district is at least one church. Within the center of Populus is the main church, the Basilica of Holy Salvation. Within the area is also the headquarters of the leaders of the Church of the People.
Church Of The End:
1) People of Exitus are direct refugees from Malefidus, there are very few native inhabitants as most were killed during the civil wars that resulted in the splitting of the church.
a) As refugees, the common people of Exitus (and even most of its leaders) live in poverty.
b) Attire and weaponry comes either from scraps of whatever happens to be lying around in the broken metropolis or stolen from overworlders.
c) it is not entirely uncommon to see someone weilding a sign post for a weapon or wearing dirty rags for shoes.
d) The educational level is relatively low resulting in a more primative grade of citizen, most trading their civil rights for their basic needs. It is not uncommon for Exitites to commit violent atrocities in the hopes of attaining their simplistic goals.
2) Due to the closeness to Malefidus, the people on the second level live constantly in a world of smog and disease.
a) The plague that has captured many of the hopeless, causing them to live in constant suffering,is spreading in Exitus.
3) The use of magic has started due to a popular new faith that has dispersed through the inhabitants.
a) Though in its infancy and rarely does it manage to make it past the first tier, magic has started showing itself.
b) Most that have magic use it for their own gain and quickly are killed by the throng of angry citizens that are without, or the instigators are deemed treasonous and are put to death by the Church.
c) Sanctioned magic is cultivated by the Church but there is still very little known about it even to the clergy.
4) The Church of the End has offered solace and inner peace to the troubled populous by uniting them in the name of violence and death.
a) The belief that 'the End is coming soon for all of us' has given new hope to the people. Apathetic of what is in store for them because of the belief that 'we're all going to die anyway' has created a freedom never before felt in Exitus.
b) The Church itself worships expressively violence. So for those who pray, your prayers are expected to be wishes of a gory death for you and your loved ones and all those around you.
c) The Church persecutes heavily all unbelievers and it is this fact that has stemmed the new interest in it. Countless 'witch hunters' have arrived rooting out 'blasphemers' and hopeless alike, claiming countless lives in the process and forcing countless others to seek expressly the Churches guidance.
5) One of the leaders of the Church is extremely Lecherous.
a) Ezekiel Ezra (famed for countless acts of self mutilation in faith of his church) has requested that all male devotees to the faith wear an unassuming burlap hood to keep their identity secret.
b) He has set up an abandoned building (believed to be a prison at one time) to provide sanctuary to 'Sisters' of the faith. It is said that only the most devout female is allowed a place in his nunnery, however it seems that only the most beautiful are allowed to enter into service.
c) On the outside the Nunnery passes for a chapel to the dying, providing the voice for the will of god...but on the inside it is little more than a personal harem for E.E. and his most exalted members of the cloth.
6) The Church of the End encompasses the largest library known to Eden and as such has been placed in charge of deciphering the history of the multi-layered city.
a) Much to their advantage history has been rewritten to fit the Church of the End and their agenda.
b) To the same degree the great archives for expired implants are equally transcribed to text through them, meaning that all those that have departed have their lives turned into a hard-copy before the implants are sent back into distribution.
7) The city is retrofitted with loudspeakers at every intersection of the city.
a) This provides a voice for the church where at the flick of the switch the populous can be addressed.
Malefidus:
- Malefidus is the largest area of Eden geographically, but the actual population is unknown since the church has given up on attempting a census.
- The religious center is located in the center of Malefidus. It is simply referred to as “The Church.” This is where the cardinals, guards, workers employed by the church, and other servants of God live. It is the only place in Malefidus with a good standard of living.
- The Church contains the only way in and out of Malefidus. It is heavily guarded.
- The church’s guards in Malefidus are known as
gray guards because of the color of their uniform. These soldiers are armed with standard-issue rifles.
-
Crimson guards are the high-ranking soldiers in Malefidus. They wear red uniforms and one is assigned to each area. There are several crimson guards in the church area. These are the only soldiers in Malefidus that can use weapons of their choice.
- The standard of living and presence of law decreases as you travel further from The Church.
- Malefidus is filled with many diseases, known and unkown, including the plague.
- Those that catch the plague are not allowed out of Malefidus.
- The white magic spell Aufero is the only known method that has ever cured a person of the plague.
- Keeping the plague from spreading, rather than preaching or promoting prosperity, is the church’s main responsibility in Malefidus.
- Areas that suffer outbursts of the plague are quarantined. These have become known as “waiting towns” since the residents are isolated and left to die.
- No guards are placed in waiting towns, but the areas themselves are guarded to keep people from escaping. Those that try to escape are shot to death on site.
- When a single person or small group of people comes down with the plague in a healthy area, the church forces them to death in an incinerator.
- When it deems necessary, the church will burn an entire waiting town and all its inhabitants to the ground to help control the plague.
- Those that are unfortunate enough to be born in Malefidus usually suffer living a life worse than death. To be born in the slums of Malefidus is to be born into violence, rape, sickness, hunger and death. Natives of Malefidus usually never escape it, and those that do are always haunted by their painful memories of their old home. Because of this, Malefidus natives usually despise god, and many rebels are born in the slums.
- Grey guards act as riot police, and have the authority to kill as they deem necessary.
- Court trials exist in the Malefidus, but are not required and rarely used.
Sections: Malefidus has 12 different areas, outside of the church, each of which has a squad of guards assigned to it. There are three basic areas in Malefidus, each of which is divided into a south, east, west, and north sector.
Lapsus- Lapsus is the circular area close to the church. Its standard of life is as good as can be found in the Malefidus, and shops can be found there. There are also most of the factories that contribute to much of the air pollution from the Malefidus. The plague is usually caught early here, so there are rarely any waiting towns.
Medius- This is the second farthest circle in the Malefidus. Shops are rare, but so is money. Most people are forced to get by on what they can find. Some can find employment in the mines that are located there. Waiting towns are more common here.
Terminus- Terminus is the outer area of the Malefidus. Food and supplies often don’t make it here, and waiting towns are commonplace. There is nothing but poverty and sickness. There are no jobs and virtually no law.
The Church- The church in the Malefidus is built for practicality rather than magnificence. It is comprised of many flat-roofed rectangular buildings. There is a circular building in the center of the building with the only exit into the upper areas of Eden.
Exports: To keep its guard and to afford the few supplies it does provide its citizens, Malefidus takes advantage of the high population of poor; The people who actually have a job work long hours for little pay. There are no worker’s rights in the Malefidus.
Mining: Since Malefidus is located on the ground in Eden and is the only area that can harvest the earth’s raw materials. There are many ore mines located in Medius. There are even more resources in Terminus, but because of the nature of the area none of it is harvested. Most of the mines are located in West Medius. The only diamond mine is located in East Medius, near the Lapsus border.
Manufacturing: raw materials are exported some, but for the most part the upper levels want already manufactured goods. Because of this There are many factories located in the Malefidus. There are some in Medius, but most are in Lapsus. North Lapsus is almost entirely factories.
The Implants:
EVERY character will have an implant in this RP. The only way to remove an implant, is if a White Mage casts ‘Aufero,’ or if another character managed to learn Aufero from a White Mage and cast it.
The Cardinals:
As a Cardinal, you and one other Cardinal will be in charge of one of the City’s levels. As a result, you will be able to make up many of the rules for that Church and level. The Cardinals are very intelligent, and stronger than the average city citizen. They can also access a character’s memories or see their current location due to the implants. Approach them with caution.
Note: If a character ever defeats a Cardinal, they will have the choice of taking their place, immediately. You will also have a choice of either taking their element and losing your own, or you will be given two Perceptum spells.
Involvement Tags:
To make it easier to follow the story, I want to add Tags at the bottom of each post, with the names of the characters involved in the post. For example, let's say my post is with
Seraphim speaking with
Raphael and
Samael, and we're discussing
Mathias, at the bottom of the post, I'd put:
Involved: Seraphim,
Raphael,
Samael,
Mathias
The colors used for the font color used for that character. I'd recommend that people use a different font color for their character. This way, people can just skim through, and only read the posts that they're involved with, if the pace is too fast.
God’s Punishments:
I will be playing the ‘God’ character in this. Whenever a character commits an act of blasphemy, or something that God would frown down upon, the character’s Mun will be Private Messaged, and it will read something along the lines of this:
“Your character is to be punished by God for their blasphemy. You may pick your character's poison.
1. Disease. [This is a wide-spread disease that those inhabiting Malefidus suffer from. You will immediately be dropped to Malefidus if this is chosen.]
2. Death of a loved one. [Your character must suffer remorse from this.]
3. Severe bodily injury. [You may suggest which part of the body, but if no suggestion is given, I will make the decision. There is no dodging this.]
4. Loss of a function: Sight, Hearing, or Speaking.
5. Suggest a punishment. [This is so Muns can have a little creativity with the punishment.]”
If the PM is not responded to within TWO days, I will choose the punishment for you. If you have a reason for being away, please post it in the Discussion thread, or PM me. I will be reasonable on this.
NPCs For Hire:
I play 'God' in different ways. Not only through PMs, but I also play Non-Playable Characters as well.
So, I want it known that any player can PM me, and request that I play an NPC for them, to interact with a certain character. My NPCs can carry out all sorts of brief actions. Appearances in certain places, interaction with certain characters, or actions with certain characters. You can get as creative as you want with the NPCs.
Though, I do have a limit on NPCs. I will only play a maximum of 3 NPCs at a time, for one player.
Remember to keep this option open, because believe me, I'm willing to do a lot of different things with my NPCs.
Goals For This Storyline:
Devout Follower: Rise up within the levels of the city, or maintain your status.
Cardinals and Church Leaders: Raise your Church’s level, or increase your influence and followin.
Resistance & Citizens: Increase the quality of your life. Defeat Cardinals, and hope to one day defeat God.
Rules:
1. Each character, except those that live in ‘Malefidus,’ is entitled to the spell casting of one element.
2. Each character must try their best not to commit blasphemy, or else they will be punished by God.
3. Characters should pray, because there is a chance for a random blessing.
4. Follow the rules of your chosen Church.
5. Eden is the ONLY city, the only country, the only place these characters know.
6. Choose a
font color for your character.
7. Be respectful to the other players, PM them if you wish to do something questionable to their character.
8. If you do NOT read the write-up, and make a post or a sign-up that clearly displays that, your character will be send to Malefidus.
9. COMMUNICATE. This RP will be much more fun if there are some behind-the-scenes alliances and secret plans.
10. HAVE FUN! This RP may be a serious one, but that doesn’t mean every character has to be like that. Be creative, be original, be clever. Not every character has to be a devout religious person. There are many different kinds of personalities characters in this RP can have.
