Chocobos are coolest, IMO, in:

FFVII: You can breed 'em, and race 'em! Fun times.
FFT: I know you can't use them or anything, but they looked awesome in the prologue movie.
FFIX: They fly! And the hot-cold thing was sweet.

Chocobos in IX, the only ones that I actually used for a purpose, until that purpose was destroyed by Ozma.

Other than that, Tactics, you could actually use them independently, and Black Chocobos are powerful, I've found out.

looks: i guess i prefer FFX' ones, they actually look very cute(as they should)

FFXII screwed over chocobos by making them look more like real birds rather then cartoonish birds...

gameplay: i did like FFXII's ones, with the little boost..

They looked real? I mean...they still looked like chocobos to me. Very similar to the ones in X just with some added features and such.

i think the chocobos in VII are the best coz u can breed em n get different colours, I herd u cud get a pink one dus ne1 know if thats true?
I lykd the black one the best, it lukd evil! X's chocobos are well cute but you cant do many things wiv em apart from ride on em!

You can't get pink ones. There are other colored chocobos at the gold saucer racing area but they belong to the other riders. You can't actually breed them.

I'm torn between VII and IX for coolest chocobo's. I loved breeding and racing in VII but I also loved chocobo hot and cold, the chocographs and flying the chocobo. And Vamo 'alla flamenco is one of the best songs ever.

X's chocobo's were plain. They were cute but plain. haha. I liked the Armour Chocobo's in XII. They looked like they could kick your ass.

Definately seven, the whole breeding/racing thing was an awesome side quest. Only Blitzball comes close in my opinion.
