I have read them and have often thought that they would make fantastic films. I do not think that they are the best ever written. They are extremely violent (for my tastes) and the plot is not amazing. I did enjoy the series a lot though, but I think I prefer his new series (Shadowfall and Hinterland). I have read other fantasy series which I have enjoyed more. Trudi Canavan's Black Magician Trilogy springs to mind.
But like I said, B&B series was a worthwhile read.
