I would never have thought to be like that at that age (not that I would at anyage ) But, this is normally the stuff you hear from highschools O_o
What is the world coming to, do these children not get taught right from wrong? I too often see parents let kids get there own way and do what they want almost as though they are adults
Fucking discipline ffs, it's not hard

This story really isn't that surprising. Elementary students are receiving a lot more pressure these days to succeed and all that, with more rules and restrictions than we had back in the day. With how much they're being pushed and controlled (especially with a lack of recess), it's not a surprise that they'd conjure up a plot like this. Kids are being corrupted more by the authorities, not the media.

The teacher scolded a kid for standing on a chair. Not because they failed some test. That's why the kids plotted the attack...
So...the above post is unrelated.
Oh yeah, and I'm guessing people skipped the part about some kids deciding to skip out of the 'attack' because "they thought they would get in trouble".

Prepare for an influx of accusations towards violent video games. It wont matter if that's a cause, or even a factor, but prepare all the same. ;D
Though it still eludes me as to what possesses someone of such an age to 'plot' an attack, I can't help but go back to the parents and questions ... what the shit are you doing?

Heck, I remember when I was in third grade, I couldn't even say a damn word, even "I wanna go potty" when I really really had to.
Hmm, but this is really disturbing alright. Do I find it surprising? Not really. No matter how people find the whole situation surprising, in the end I do believe that anything is possible and children ages 8 - 10 should not be an exempt just because they're kids.
Now that I remember, many years ago my brother who was only 7 or 8 at the time was stabbed on his left eye with a pencil at school. I was only ten at the time, so I don't remember the details, but I believe the kid who stabbed him was classified as a "bully"...and the kid was only 8 years-old! Yes I found it shocking back then, but now hearing these stories...well, while it sure is disturbing, there's really nothing surprising about it anymore...

It shows up how morals are being lost in society. Back in the days of my grandparents, a teacher was a symbol of wisdom, worthy of respect and admiration. Then again, time changes and so does society.
Seeing how things are going on nowadays, it was just a matter of time before events as the one mentioned began to occur.

I disagree entirely, its some 8 year olds you decided to knife a teacher because she told them off.
NOTHING TO DO WITH MORALS.
I agree with erythritol though, not many 8 year olds could have oragnised some one to watch for the police and someone to clean up (though i wonder what that entailed)

I think the whole, "they're not capable of that kind of violence" thing is bs. I'd be capable of that kind of violence when I was that little. Actually, no I wouldn't. But I was too much of a pussy to bring handcuffs and steak knifes or whatever to school. I guess I still am, since you'd get expelled for doing some stupid shit like that. I think the kids should be beaten in public. I didn't really read the article, but I'm sure that's the appropriate answer anyway.
