Third-World Countries in the eyes of the Higher-Ups

A third world country is a developing country, or in other words, a country that is incredibly poor, or has conditions that are not as well-off as in other nations. Bangladesh, many countries of Africa, some of Southeast Asia, and many more fall under this category.

Basically a third world country is one that is at the bottom of the world community spectrum. They neither have very good amenities provided to the local population, nor do they have any effective means of improving --- thus relying on countries like the US and the developed countries of Europe and Asia to come to their aid.

What do we really think about them?
Do we fell the need to sympathize with them? Or do we just throw them in the back of our minds?
Or...do we not know what to do?

Talk about this here.

I dunno. On one hand how can you be mad at them for being poor? It's not their fault. It's hard to make a country run. And when everything is in ruins, one fix leads to another failure. A method that might help curb hunger might spread pollution and ruin drinking water. There are few good ideas and even fewer resources to make them work. It all seems to be one step forward and two steps back. Not to mention that you have to have the general public be willing and ready for the steps forward. You also have to assume that the figureheads in charge actually want to make progress in that particular country. Not only are some corrupt immoral crackpots but other just don't want to change. Many 3rd world countries are led by tribal leaders that don't want to make any progress of any sort.

However, all those complications being considered, you also have to marvel at how countries that have been inhabited for so long have never made much progress at all. Lucy, the first primate believed to stand upright in prehistoric times lived in a section of Africa which is still one of the most destitute and unprogressive places in the world. How is this possible? That's what I want to know? By sheer mathematical chance they should have at least developed some fraction of the technology that is possessed in the rest of the world! Some tiny iota of progress must have been made by this point just by a roll of the dice. How it hasn't happened is truly awe-inspiring. :/

Right. Some leaders especially in the wilderness of Africa seem to refuse to be open to anything at all, not because they're crackpots, but because they're acting typically human by wanting to keep any sort of hold on their power, I think.
I mean, what's the road to advancement but education, right? Sooner or later the common people or the masses would gain some inkling of how the country is run, figure out that it's not in their best interests to keep a 'nation' like that on the go for much longer, revolt, and put a new figurehead on the top spot.

But either way, I would like to see those countries develop and eventually reach a plateau which is at least of some semblance to countries like the US.

But without the proper steps, i.e. education....that seems a bit far off.
