Denmark, huh? What's in Denmark, I wonder...?
Well, I can't say if I agree or not as I do not see the Philippines anywhere. =/ But as far as I know, that being a third-world-country, it definitely won't rank that high.
Actually, I don't think I agree with that statistics at all though. xD Of course, this is based entirely on my opinion and not some political views, whatsoever. I seriously think I'd be much happier in Japan more than anywhere else in the world. =)

Well, the high ranked countries are....well....Pot smoking countries...I don't know to much about them so I can't really agree of disagree.
I'm actually not surprised Japan is ranked low though. I would visit Japan but not live there. Japan works harder than the US, and I think full-time hours are 60 hours a week. Japan is one of the highest ranked country for suicide rate. Also Japan seems more stressed, and pressured to be the best. Their schools are tougher than the US as well. :/
I agree with the bottom three....considering the last country on that list had genocides recently, and have so many issues going on.

This ranking is not bast on touristic attractions, it's based I think on the life you can have there, available jobs, how well the jobs are paid, what is the average salary, crime rate, stuff like that.

What's pot have to do with it? This ranking was not done based on a public pole...

Did you actually read the article?

The projection, which is to be published in a psychology journal this September, will be presented at a conference later in the year. Participants in the various studies were asked questions related to happiness and satisfaction with life. The meta-analysis is based on the findings of over 100 different studies around the world, which questioned 80,000 people worldwide. For this study data has also been analyzed in relation to health, wealth and access to education.

Well, let's see The Netherlands is ranked 15 and Norway is ranked 19. Marijuana is legal in the Netherlands. As for Norway, although it is not legal there, Marijuana is quite popular there. Marijuana is basically a relaxing, stress-free drug.

Where is that drug not popular?, answer me that.
Anyways, don't the Scandinavian countries rank pretty high in medical aid and stuff for their citizens. Pretty clean air too.
As for Japan, they love work, ergo they're happy.
I wouldn't like to live there 'cause I can't imagine surviving with the seafood and all that other stuff which I hate so much. Maybe just for a study abroad education, but not really long-term either. There's also lots of stuff for speed junkies, i.e. street racing, racing, more racing but with RC cars, and baseball and other sports.
Actually, if it wasn't for the seafood, I would so love to live there.

What's your source? I live in Norway so I should now. Marijuana is not "quite popular" here. I wouldn't even say "popular".

Yay! Costa Rica is in the top 20. I think the article is pretty accurate. Scandinavian countries have a very good social security system, or so I've heard.
As for my own country, I'd say it's a pretty good place to live. Access to education and health services is good. There are plenty of places to go for leisure, etc.
