In RPG Inferno, a really major complaint I have to make is the whole deal with Neoshadows and their curse spell. I'm fine up against one neoshadow and typically kill one in a handful of turns. However, when I fight two, they both cast Curse on me as soon as they possibly can, killing me by the time I get to my next turn because of double the damage dealt per turn, plus all the enemies get a chance to attack me. This is a MAJOR annoyance considering, what RPG allows status-effect spells to stack...? I don't know of any...

And this is even worse when I found another bug where I encountered a bat with two Neoshadows, the Bat casted haste right before my turn and just because that ONE monster just got faster, all my enemies, Neoshadows included, get a free turn, skipping mine. And I have higher speed than all of my enemies, even after the bat casts haste on itself.

Yeah, I'm only level 25 and I faced the Neoshadows and some bats...what annoyance. I was killed in less than 10 seconds.

So...I guess I'll have to level up back in Central Vidal...and that's gonna take awhile. =/

I'm thinking that in order to defeat those Neoshadows, do not venture out on your own at first. Have a friend or two go with you...then you might have a chance. =/

Yeah, but, IMHO, I think they're not worth teaming up against. At my level, they give decent EXP when I beat one, but considering how hard they are to beat, I don't want to take the EXP cut of traveling in a party. (That, and I don't like partying unless I'm helping the other people in my party. So I typically work alone.)

I typically like working alone too, but sometimes teaming up can have its advantages. You can level up faster (as the battle would be much easier and faster when teaming up with another member) and after a few rounds, you can then separate ways and see if you're strong enough to defeat a couple Neoshadows by yourself.

Sure, teaming up cuts the EXP, but it's better than trying to battle Neoshadows and losing most of the time (along with gils and Hi-potions), correct?

I don't know, it was just a suggestion. It's up to you.

Meh... I may try it, but still... Curse should only work once at a time... I almost had it on my character 3 times once... Think how bad that would be... :/

Spells have always been able to stack. Stacking spells such as warp and Regen was great in the original RPG.

Really, it all depends on your character. If you had the foresight to build up MAG DEF before going then that battle probably would've been much easier, but I understand that like, no one is a psychic and probably couldn't see those status stackers coming. Your character will be able to do well in some areas and horrid in others, the challenge is finding where you can do your best (without dying) and sticking there.

My PC personally receives 0 damage when hit with Curse, but is absolutely awful in the second and third stages in the Hall of Warriors. Thus, I stick to the Hall of Mages. However, I do see your problem with those Neoshadows; warriors stick to the Hall of Warriors, but get hit with spells instead of standard attacks a lot of the time, which throws the warriors off.

That is quite the sticky situation. :| Partying up probably wouldn't help you much, since you're around the level where those monsters start dealing out 1 XP.

Moved to RPG Café.

Seriously guys; take note of the sections relating to Inferno.

Guys, you need to build up your HP, MAG DEF or SPD. That is why building up a strategy is important. If you think the NeoShadows are annoying, checkout the Golden Golems. Two of them casting their spell on you at the same time is worse.

ok i don't have a proplem with them due to high spd and str (i have 200 str) but i do see his point dope spells should just stop the first one and start the second thus allowing people to live with out recieving 150 points of damage per turn.

Yeah, well, I know that NOW but I have very few levels left before I reach the level cap for this area. It's not like there's a warning message as you go into each area telling you what to focus on. I'm a very individual-style player when it comes to most games, RPG Inferno included, so I mostly rely on myself and what I can do more than others. And it's not like there are great descriptions on the stats either. hard for me to tell the difference between Mag and MP, when they could very well both determine the exact same thing.

It's just really annoying when I approach something in my typical manner, finding that the odds are very well stacked against me.

The Halls go to level 51. Meaning you can level up to level 51 there. Granted level 47 on up will be slow. That is why teaming is allowed in these areas. So you can team up with somebody who is strong in areas you are weak.

But not all areas will allow teaming. Particularly areas which have big rewards.

Also, D'lain, you have no DEF. That will screw you later on. You really should consider getting balanced stats.

well landon can't get any exp from mages and i get 1 exp from worriors me and him have been leveling up each other. (fighting each other)

If you guys are fighting each other, you better not be power leveling. You both better be trying to win. Because if you are caught power leveling, your characters will be reset.

lol yea as he said we both play to win if one comes out leveling tough for the loser

Ive been getting owned too quickly by these things too... I dont like how they take so much of ur hp away so quickly. Like from the bats to neoshadows is too big of a gap. I think that there attacks should be a bit weaker.

Also... the bats haste is riduculus in the Neoshadow battles. Its unfair for the neoshadows to have over 3 times before its my turn >.> obviously im going to die.. im liike "oh i can heal now" bam! skips my turn and neoshadow kills me >.>

The original RPG was harder. Roda Volcano made it REALLY hard with so many enemies. If you didn't have enough speed, then you were pretty much fucked.

Yeah, I have little problems with neoshadows (I have high MDEF, DEF and evasion) but the bats haste gives their now weak curses time to take effect. Though they only do between 0 and 20 damage, it does stack up on turns.

Though, about haste only affecting the monsters turns, the same thing is happening to players. I teamed up with Kit Fisto yesterday and when I hasted him (he had well over 100 speed with my haste) the monsters turns were delayed by quite a bit. And combined with my speed with a haste the monsters had no chance.

Well incase Koloth didnt tell ya, there were new monsters added to HoW and HoM on the 3rd floor. In HoW the NeoShadow 2 just got an upgrade (+5 spd and more HP). As for the Mages one im not to sure. Havent ventured over to take a look yet so Koloth can tell ya ^^ The NeoShadow 2 is lvl 48 so itll be alittle more easier (thanks to Reality.Fantasy's complaining xD) way to be!!
