I actually drew this picture three years ago, but decided to redraw all the foreground elements, since I liked the background enough. Unfortunately, because I've gotten better, they look more real, and therefore, more gory. You've been warned.

Wow, it really does looks quite realistic. Still I don't classify it as "Too Bloody", you know, after playing games like "Silent Hill" or "Condemned", players are used to see a lot of blood
Nice Job

As is probably apparent from my sigs and avatars, it's the 231st anniversary of Carl Friedrich Gauss' existence. So in commemoration, I drew two pictures.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...uss_sketch.jpg
I know he looks kind of sad in this drawing, but his life was kind of sad in a way. His wife died after his third child was born; five years after he married her, his main supporter, Duke Carl Wilhelm Ferdinand also died, he made few personal friends, due to the high level of his genius and isolation, and some enemies, due to the fact that he would not acknowledge their work, claiming it was his own (his journal and posthumous papers revealed this had been true), suffered hypochondria and melancholia, particularly in his later life, and was ill for most of his later life. And yet, none of these things stopped him from being the magnificent man that he was, the kind, gentle and calm being of great genius, who disliked conflict and did not preach religious intolerance, and perhaps sensitive, yet strong in spirit and intellect.
For those interested, Gauss' name in Latin (nominative) is Carolus Fredericus Gauss.

And this is the picture part of the series of the three greatest mathematicians, which I delayed on purpose for this event.

And finally, I have finished this flash. It seems they like it on Newgrounds, which is a good thing, I guess.

Wow! o.o I finished watching your flash movie and it's amazing. The artwork, music, sounds, story, everything is well thought out and pieced together. The little mathematician was very cute and I knew the birds would appear at the end! Awesome job! I can't wait for the next movie.

Gee, I haven't drawn in awhile.
Actually, I drew this picture awhile ago, but never got around to coloring it because I was busy working on the flash movie, and so now I did.
I'm surprised; I haven't rusted at all.
This is from the SNES game, Alcahest. It's old, but fun. Unfortunately, it's in Japanese, so you need a translation patch to make any sense of it.

Yeah I am kind of in the same boat. I just draw for a hobby, and sometimes I like to frame my pictures. Anyway...
I like your sketches Karl, they're impressive. They're actually inspiring me to draw a little more and now I want to post a thread on some of my art. I want you to comment on my art! constructive criticism or w/e!
I have a question though, "do you color your pictures on the computer? or do you paint them?"... what are your materials?

I color them on the computer because it's more convenient. No messy paint, etc. I don't doubt the quality of traditional works though; they can be just as great.
I use a tablet and Photoshop CS3, though Corel Painter or OpenCanvas are equally as good; it just depends on your style.
The sketches were done in a sketchbook with a lead pencil and a kneaded eraser; nothing fancy, but I guess I don't achieve depth in those sketches by using only one kind of pencil.
However, it's important to recognize that you use the tools that suit you best; not necessarily t | | | |
