Hail to the hatred for badly dressed, useless main characters!
He is probaly the only main character of any Final Fantasy game where people didn't pay any attention to. Move out of the way, and let Ashe take her rightful place. Even Larsa is more of a lead character than Vaan.

He IS, which is sad that we are able to have opinions like that. Concidering that Reks is in the game for a total of what, twenty playable minutes?

I know, that is easy. It is also easy to mistake Vaan for a cocktrice in the cocktrice sidequest. He seems as relavent to the storyline as any of them were. I spent hours trying to figure out how he fit into the sidequest. Thinking "THAT is the reason Vaan is here! He is a cocktrice in disguise as a lead character of a video game."
Quickly followed by "Damn, that is a horrible disguise!"
