Your favorite type of anime: Manga or Motion Picture...

So what do you prefer, to watch it on scheduel or to watch it on the comics before it comes out?

If so, well, it totally depends on what I'm reading/watching.

For an action-packed it's much more fulfilling to watch the episode on tv or DVD. If you try to read mangas with a lot of action, it can be confusing and you lose a lot of the intended effect. Music aids action scenes a lot, as does motion and general sound effects. Colour can also be useful when we're talking about spilt blood. It's never as effective of noticeable in black and white.

Look at animes like Cowboy Beebop or InuYasha. They're the kind I prefer in motion. They have a reason to be animated because it's a lot more dramatic that way. If you're reading a manga and looking at pictures, it's alright... But I think that's the worst way to go about it. At least when you're reading a full-text book you can imagine the scene to be as dramatic as you like. With stills, it's less easy to do so.

For girlier stories (such as Fushigi Yugi or -maybe- Chobits), manga all the way. I can't stand the majority of voices they use in the animes! While music does aid the romantic scenes, I actually prefer not to have that part of it. I like interpreting their voices, too, since they're usually too mushy in the animes. Haha.
