No, I was more excited, a great climax to finish it and to lead on to the movie, although Al's death is quite a sad scene and Gluttony's despair for Lust, but also the excitement when envy enters london and Edward follows and Al getting training from his teacher. Not really a sorrowful last episode.

Well when Mustang almost died, I went =( But then when he was alive near the end of the episode i went =D Al's death was sad. When he said "This is for you, brother." I was like 8| So my saddness meter in that episode was probably 45%

Kinda strange how easily Mech Archer got killed though, just a few shots to his human back and he died, I wonder if Fuhrer Bradley's son actually survived, he isn't mentioned after Mustang saves his from the mansion.

I was really touched by the ending in both the anime and the movie, not that it was that sad or anything, the closeness between Al and Ed is what moved me the most, their relationship... whenever I watch FMA I look at my little brother and am happy that we too are really close.. an amazing anime, I really don't know why some people detest it so :/

People detest it? I can't see why, it really shows the bonds that family can share, how one event can spur people so much. I am going to watch the movie the second I get it, I can't wait! but does the movie explain what happens to Gluttony, Dante or Wrath?

I actually missed the last episode of FMA. I avidly watched every single episode each day, and incidentally, my tivo did NOT record the final episode. I actually had Lady Aerith tell me everything that happened. XD
The second to last episode had me totally stumped. I wasn't sure if Edward had really died or if he was going to get right back up and pretend it was a scratch, as he usually does. To think that he went right back through the gate; even though it was obvious that that would happen, I never thought that it would end that way.
I'm happy with the ending though. In the end, everything turns out for the better.

OMG yes I totally started bawling. I was so sad that Alphonse could not remember anything, and that Ed was stuck in our world. It was a great end to the series though, and a perfect set up for the movie

But Al does remember slight things, if you remember his reason to want to learn more from Asumi was to help save his brother, and Rhea, if you really want to see it just look it up in youtube or somewhere
